Penzión Hastrman — Hotel in Riečka

Located in Riecka, a bus service runs past the property. Check in was easy and we were shown to our room. Ascending to the first floor via a straight set of steps, our room was larger than average opening into an entance with the spacious sleeping area to the right and bathroom to the left. Beyond the bedroom was a small balcony with chairs. The bed was firm but comfortable, the European style pillows could do with a little more substance. This is a nice hotel in the mountains. Clean rooms, there is a common kitchen with everything you need to prepare and store food and dishes. Hotel's owner is friendly. A mountain stream flows near the house fresh mountain air. The hostess can speak English. There is a breakfast service. We did not want a city center hotel in Banska Bystrica, and this was a great choice. Very friendly and helpful owner, we booked last minute and she made arrangements for us to get in to our room even though she was absent. Comfortable room, very accommodating for breakfast. Only downside is trying to find the location - use your GPS! - and finding restaurants nearby. City center is only a few minutes...
