Hotel Marathon — Hotel in Senec

We recently spent a week at the Marathon Hotel and would rate this hotel amongst the best.||We notified the hotel that we would be arriving late and the manager phoned us before we arrived to make sure we could find the hotel. The car park is at the rear of the hotel and the street is one-way but once you have this established it is easy to find the gates clearly signed on the left. There are electric gates with an intercom, but once you have checked in, your key can be used to gain entry at any time.||||Our room was modern with a high ‘boutique hotel’ standard of finish and we had the use of a shared roof terrace. The room was kept spotlessly clean throughout the week. Bottled water was provided every day, and on the day preceding a national holiday the maid left us extra water as she knew the shops would be closed. ||||Breakfast is made to order at whatever time you would like it - the ground floor is a restaurant but also has outdoor seating for warm weather. Food comprised cold meats, cheeses, tomatoes, fresh fruit, coffee, tea, fruit juice and they will also provide a cooked breakfast e.g. Scrambled eggs, Fried eggs, Ham and Eggs etc. All food was superbly prepared and presented.||||We dined in the restaurant in the evening and there was a great selection of food, all freshly prepared to order. We tried a selection of dishes and they exceeded our expectations.||||However, what impressed us the most was the friendliness and attentiveness of the management and staff. ||||The hotel is right in the centre of Senec in the pedestrian shopping area and walking distance from the lake. The hotel is only 20 minutes from Bratislava airport and about 40 minutes drive from the centre...

We booked two deluxe rooms at The Marathon Hotel in Senec, which is equidistant from Bratislava and Trnava, where Slovakia were playing Wales.|Everything was perfect. The rooms were very spacious and spotless. The food was excellent in every respect. LYDIA is the chef who deserves to be complimented. I would like to thank the morning waitress LUCKA, MICHAL who served our lunch on the Thursday and KRISTINA who gave us beautiful and perfect service on the Friday. Kristina gave us advice on the appropriate wine and her knowledge was very good; she was an absolute delight.|Also thank you to FEDO the son of the owner for making us so welcome. This is a family run hotel and the staff have been there a long time and it is clear to see why.....they are a very good team.|We flew from London for a three day break and will definitely return.|This hotel can be totally recommended.
