So I booked this to stay with the kids and on the face of it this hotel is excellent. It has a Spa and wellness centre that is very good but regiment in terms of when the staff are allowed to turn it on don’t turn up before 1pm, why it’s a hotel in peak season turn it on when the guests want it on. ||Something we found very frustrating was the quality of staff in the hotel was pretty much the worst trained staff I’ve ever spoken to if you could speak to them at all as their English was shocking. ||This is a 4 star hotel that is basically a shell of a hotel run on absolutely minimum staff levels the ones you see there are there for long shifts and are generally miserable.||The food here was absolutely disgraceful on many levels. Firstly apart from breakfast the only other food served in the entire hotel is between 7 and 9 pm that’s a buffet that if you don’t get there early they don’t replace the food and you basically have to pick from scraps. I complained about this and the staff were just ‘I’m sorry to hear that sir’, we’ll do something about it then! SERIOUSLY get your act together this could be a great hotel but it’s poorly run. I don’t think the staff can be blamed too much as this obviously filters down from the top. ||No room service, not even the ability to buy a packet of crisps if you miss the two hour dinner window. The fridge in our room wasn’t even plugged in.||You’ve got a good base for a hotel get someone in to run it like a 4 star hotel and not a B&B in fact that’s a little insulting to B&B owners as at least...
Read moreThis is not the first time me and my family have come to this hotel and every time we do not regret it. This hotel is located away from the hustle and bustle of cities, which allows you to enjoy beautiful views from the panoramic hotel windows in the lobby and clean windows in your room. We stayed at this hotel from 23.12.23 to 29.12.23 and I can safely say that I do not regret spending Christmas at this hotel. This hotel gave us many opportunities, one of the main ones being relaxation. Our whole holiday was spent in a relaxed and positive way, from breakfast when we could leisurely have a mug of coffee, uintil the evening whe we could stay in the spa (wellness)of the hotel. Maybe our family is kidding themselves, but when we arrived at the hotel this time, we felt as if something had changed, as if the hotel was more cosy.
However, it does not matter what, every time our family chooses this hotel because of the opportunity to be closer to nature and away from the chaos of big cities. We like the fact that looking out of the hotel windows we can see a big forest, giant mountains and just a beautiful view at any time of the day or night. The fact that we saw bats made us and our children even more happier, thanks to this opportunity our children stopped sitting on their phones and looked outside more often in search of new "friends" in the hotel.
Thank you, the Hotel Monfort Team, we are looking forward to...
Read moreThe hotel is wonderfully remote and quiet (well, depending on your neighbours…). Parking is a bit limited – not enough spaces for all rooms… but this only means you have to walk a bit longer to the entrance.||The lobby, restaurant and most rooms offer a beautiful view onto the Tatra mountain range – people actually come just to see it...||The rooms and bathrooms are well-sized;; the beds are a bit simple but comfortable. Unfortunately the rooms cannot be darkened properly (the windows only have translucent curtains) – expect to be woken by the rising sun (the rooms face southeast). The water installations could be improved - expect dramatic water temperature changes when someone in another room has a shower.||The wifi is very slow (as is the general mobile phone network) - this is not a place for surfing the internet...||Dinner is a bit simple, but decent; it consists of a buffet with four mains and four side dishes to choose from, plus a soup and a desser. A-la-carte cooking is only offered when the hotel is almost empty (= less than 20 guests).||Breakfast is also a bit simple, with a focus on local dishes (try – they tend to be better than the “international” ones); note that you can order eggs made to your liking||The building in general looks a bit faded – the finishes could to with a refurbishment, but not to the extent that it...
