Hotel Impozant — Hotel in Valča

My partner and I recently stayed at Hotel Impozant for a few days. While there were some genuine highlights, a few disappointing aspects prevented it from meeting our 4-star expectations.

The Highlights: The staff was genuinely wonderful, friendly and helpful throughout our entire stay. The location is absolutely stunning, with beautiful lake views and gorgeous natural surroundings that are perfect for outdoor activities. We spent hours just enjoying the scenery. The à la carte menu options were excellent - definitely try the beef cheeks if you're dining there!

Our Room - Charming but Showing Its Age: The room had vintage character, though the 90s-style décor has clearly seen better days. While comfortable enough, there were noticeable maintenance issues like chipped wood throughout. We also felt a bit uncomfortable that our room was only separated from the neighboring room by a locked connecting door. The carpeting also raised some hygiene concerns for us.

Breakfast Buffet - The Major Letdown: This was our biggest disappointment. For a 4-star hotel, we expected much more. Juices weren't included in the buffet and had to be ordered separately for an additional charge. The food quality was inconsistent - while the scrambled eggs were made fresh when I requested them, the ones sitting in the buffet had clearly been under the warming lamps too long and had dried up, suggesting they hadn't been checked or refreshed in a while. The staff was helpful and made fresh eggs without any issues when I asked. However, the fried eggs were clearly pre-made products throughout our stay. My suggestion would be for the hotel to monitor the warming equipment more closely and prepare eggs fresh for guests on demand, eliminating the pre-made products entirely. Overall, the buffet selection felt mediocre at best.

Bottom Line: Hotel Impozant has wonderful staff and an unbeatable location, but needs improvements in room maintenance and especially the breakfast offering to truly earn its 4-star rating. While the à la carte dining saves it from being a complete disappointment, the overall experience fell short. I understand that our stay was out of season, so things might be different during peak times, but in my opinion, basic standards like room maintenance and breakfast quality shouldn't...

We happen to be in the area again vacationing with our kids. On the first day we decided to go to Impozant for breakfast. Let me tell you -- it was one of the worst experiences over a very long time. We came at around 09:00am (July 7th -- info for the manager so that he can identify the shift and hopefully make improvements), though the place was just 50% busy there were no freshly set up tables with cutlery (4 star hotel???), we had to get stuff ourselves. I've been waiting for 20 minutes for the waiter to be able to order a coffee. No wonder, as he was chatting at the main reception (blond/short hair, cheeky looking guy). Sausages were super cold, not a single egg was there, last two rolls, in general the selection was very limited (we paid 22.95 eur for 3 people -- totally not worth the price, just go check out Hotel Partizan, Tale to see what value you get for your money). At the end, I asked the blond waiter for the receipt, yet again had to wait for 15 minutes and reiterate to him. Service was really mediocre. Also the toilets by the reception were very stinky (after pee). My daughter did not even want to enter the space due to the smell. Impozant you can only dream of 4 stars. Celý čas som si myslel, že dám hodnotenie 3,5-4 z 10, ale odchod to zrazil na maximálme 2 z 10.

Jedným slovom, katastrofa. Ak wellness v MT a okolí, tak skôr Penzión Ferrata (alebo čokoľvek iné okrem hotela Victoria). Toto je strata času.

Vysvetlenie:

Ako prvé na vás vybafne špecifický dizajn, na mňa veľa skla, všetko je priehľadné a stále na vás vidno. Niekomu by to mohlo vadiť, niekomu nie, za mňa je to mínus, ale len malé. Na dizajne mi skôr vadilo, že v strede je málo miesta, na čokoľvek. Priestoru by neuškodilo ak by tam bolo aspoň o jednu saunu menej. Taktiež v priestore chýba miesto na sedenie. V zadu síce je tepidárium, privítal by som však miesto kde si človek sadne a oprie sa. V strede sú iba dve plastové lavičky, ale tie majú hroznú polohu na relaxačné sedenie.

Ďalsia vec je, že v ochladzovacom bazéne sú rozhegané schody, pôsobí to neskutočne lacno.

Nepríjemné prekvapenie bolo, že absolútny základ každého wellnessu, voda s citrónom, je za poplatok (0,3 centov za deci). K dispozícii síce je čistá voda z fontánky, nikde však žiadne poháre. Môžete si vypýtať pohár z baru, ale ak ste introvert ako ja a chcete si v saune oddychnúť nie len od ruchu dňa, ale aj od socializácie, je to pre vás mínus. Mínus taktiež je, že pohár si následne musíte strážiť. Vo Ferrate si proste vždy zoberiete ďalší a obsluha použité priebežne odnáša.

Ďalším za mňa veľkým mínusom je to, že v sprchách netečie studená voda (aspoň som teda nezistil ako to prestaviť z teplej, možno niekto bude šikovnejší). Celkovo systém púšťania vody je za mňa detinský, privítal by som klasickú batériu a nie tlačidlo.

Ďalšou dôležitou vecou ktorá chýba sú hodiny blízko sáun. Jediné sú úplne vzadu v tepidáriu, takže keď chcete zistiť koľko času vám zostáva, musíte prejsť cez celý wellness. Keď už sme pri hodinách, v fínskej saune sú, ale v bio saune (ktorá je celkom plus, až na jej polohu) je podľa popisu 75-90 stupňov, nie sú.

Obrovským mínusom je, že síce wellness je až od 12 rokov (čo je samo o sebe nízka hranica) tak škriekajúce deti počujete cez bar, keďže bazény sú hneď vedľa.

Vo fínskej saune je taktiež neskutočne nízky strop ak si chcete sadnúť úplne hore, dvakrat som si udrel hlavu a to mám len 175 cm.

A zabíjajú to šatne, spoločné. V čase kedy ZSSK predstavila samostatné kupé pre ženy sú spoločné šatne absolútny fail. Nehovoriac o tom, že sú na počet kabínok malé. To znamená, že keď odchádzate pri zácerečnej (ako ja) alebo vychytáte rodinku tak sa pomaly ani nepohnete.

Ale aby som nebol len negatívny, našiel som aj nejaké pozitíva. Prvým za mňa je možnosť ísť sa ochladiť do potoka na terase a druhé ocenia fajčiari. Na terase je totiž možné fajčit, návštevníkov vonkajšej vírivky, to zas poteší o niečo menej.

Takže na záver, ak nepijete vodu s citrónom a ste extrovert tak si hodnotenie zvýšte na cca 4. Tak či tak ak si chcete užiť wellness alebo idete sa do tohto hotela ubytovať kvôli nemu, radšej...
