I stayed at the Kaštieľ Kubínyi for five nights with my family of four in July 2025. We really enjoyed our stay and all agreed that this is a special place. |There are twelve rooms altogether, five in the mansion itself and seven in the former stables where the restaurant and the spa are located as well. None of the rooms in the mansion were occupied during our stay. We had an apartment that consisted of two bedrooms, a bathroom and a terrace. It was very spacious, clean, stylishly decorated and equipped with a safe, TV, tea station, hair-dryer, fridge, and bathrobes. Ample storage space was provided and the beds were comfortable. There was no A/C, but I suppose it isn’t needed as even though the weather was warm, the room never got too hot. There bathroom was brand-new with a great shower and nice range of toiletries provided. The one thing we didn’t like about the room was the fact that the blinds in our bedroom where thin and light-coloured so that the room got very bright once the sun was up, and that the two side windows in the boys’ room didn’t have blinds or curtains at all. We blocked out the light with pillows and cushions which wasn’t easy as the windows were narrow but very high. I suppose attaching curtains would interfere with the decoration concept of the room. Just letting the light in interferes with guests’ comfort, though.|Breakfast was buffet style with an additional breakfast menu from which different egg dishes, porridge etc. could be ordered. The food was very good, choices were adequate. All the staff were polite, friendly and helpful.|The price of the room also included two hours in the spa and a guided tour of the 18th-century mansion. The spa is very nice with a small indoor swimming pool, a sauna and a steam bath. We greatly enjoyed swimming with a panoramic view of the mansion and mountains and then relaxing in the sauna. However, we thought that a mere two hours in the spa during our five-night-stay were far from adequate. This should be extended to two hours a day or at least every second day. |We enjoyed the tour of the mansion very much. The mansion is very pretty with an interesting history and our guide was very knowledgeable.|Kaštieľ Kubínyi is a special place. We enjoyed our stay very much. With a little effort, they could achieve true excellence. We could tell that the decorative items in the room, the linens and towels were carefully chosen and of high quality. The same attention to detail should be applied throughout. For example, one of the chairs on our terrace was badly damaged. The staircase lamps were dusty. The choice of bread for breakfast got smaller every day. These are just small things that I wouldn’t mention in a chain hotel review, but a place like Kaštieľ Kubínyi should strive for perfection. Nevertheless, I warmly...

The exclusive and limited availability adds to this gem even more value. Definitely check before you make your travel arrangements to avoid disappointment. We have visited the hotel mid-week on Wednesday only for the one-night experience. The place is ideal for the events and special occasions due to its countless options to capture the unique moments in beautiful surroundings indoors or outdoors. ||Fine dining restaurant adds to the whole experience lovely touch. Personally, I think there is a potential to have a Michelin star as well If desired by the owners and the team. The cooking style is seasonal, simple and focused to please not only your pallet but all your senses. It reminds me a little bit of cooking of great British Chef William Drabble. However, if you prefer the more local and rustic way of dining, you may find the portions way too small, sophisticated and delicate.
