Penzion Gabriel — Hotel in Vysoké Tatry

My wife and I stayed in one of the annex rooms. We shared a kitchen with one other couple but we had a private shower and toilet. The room was a nice size with shelving, hooks, big windows and free internet. There was also a TV but none of the channels worked so I didn't really see any point in that. Better to just take it out. The room has a heater but no air conditioner. It wasn't that hot out when we were there though so opening a window was just fine. The location is pretty decent. A 5 minute walk from Novy Smokovec station and about 10 a minute walk to the Vysoke Tatry (Stary Smokovec station) funicular (the one that takes you up to Hrebeniok). There are also a number of cafes and shops just east of the property including a small supermarket. We didn't really have any problems with the place. Honestly, this place is a mixed bag. We came here for three days to go skiing. Place is not bad and price is quite good. Views are beautiful, rooms are clean and have new equipment, but if there are many other turists, noise is big. Besides there is no reception and sometimes it is hard to find the owner, who additionally isn't willing to help you...
