Guest House Bakhus — Hotel in Šenčur

We booked this accomodation as we were traveling from Croatia to Germany. The August wildfires in Croatia affected our travel time - what should have taken a little over 4 hours took us over 9 hours! Unfortunately we were unable to e-mail from the road to notify our host we were running late - although we arrived after 11pm we were welcomed with a smile (no worries English speakers, the host speaks English). The rooms were comfortable and clean. Breakfast the next morning was tasty, a good selection of items that satisfied everyone in our party of 5. Based upon the delay in our arrival, we were unable to visit the surrounding area - most disappointing because it did look like a fine area to explore. Nice guesthouse in a quiet setting, but a short drive from Kranj and Skofja Loka. Also easy access to the highway for an easy trip to Lake Bled and other parts of Triglav Park. Fantastic room for the money, and the breakfast is ridiculously good. Plenty of parking, which is a welcoming as parking in Slovenia is often stressful for someone used to American parking lots. Found this gem on TripAdvisor and booked after reading such good reviews. A little gem set in a quiet hamlet not far from Ljubljana Airport. Rooms are very comfortable, we had a room with a lovely terrace.||We stayed four nights and ate at Guesthouse on four occasions. The food was delicious,||fish, meat and especially the Octopus . Quite easy to find in a rental car, with plenty of parking. Short distance to Kranj and less than 30 minutes to Ljubljana by motorway, but would recommend the back roads for the little...
