Motel HEAVEN — Hotel in Šentilj

!!! ACCOMMODATION TO AVOID!!!

We booked a place through Booking.com that advertised itself as pet-friendly. During our search, we applied the filter for 2 adults + 1 pet, and found this accommodation accordingly.

We arrived in the evening, checked in, unpacked, and went out to explore the city. While leaving, we noticed the host’s friend urinating on the flowers in the courtyard. We chose not to react and moved on.

Around midnight, we returned to the accommodation, where the host and his friend, both visibly intoxicated, confronted us in very broken English, accusing us of being dishonest and claiming we never mentioned bringing a dog. We explained calmly that we had selected the pet option on Booking.com, and the property was explicitly listed as pet-friendly. We even offered to pay any additional pet fees if necessary.

Despite this, the host waved us off, called us liars, and went back inside with his friend.

About 10 minutes later, they knocked on our door and simply said, "No dogs. You leave now." Confused, we tried to de-escalate the situation, but they started shouting "liar" and "not correct" repeatedly. The situation escalated into physical violence – I was punched in the stomach, my girlfriend’s bag was thrown into the hallway, and she was hit with a towel. We agreed to leave immediately, but asked for time to collect our belongings. However, they kept harassing, threatening, and intimidating us throughout, giving us no space or time to properly pack. As a result, we had to return twice to retrieve forgotten items.

This entire incident was completely unacceptable and outrageous. In all likelihood, our only "mistake" was arriving later in the evening, when they were clearly drunk and aggressive.

We left the property around 12:30 AM, while the owner continued to message us, calling us liars and threatening to call the police.

I would also like to add that we have been traveling with our dog for 7 years, and we have never experienced anything even remotely like this at any other pet-friendly accommodation.

Needless to say, we ended up staying at a 4-star hotel nearby, for roughly the same price, with significantly better facilities and breakfast included.

I strongly advise everyone to avoid...
