Gostilna Privošnik — Hotel in Žalec

It is one of the best places in the Stiriya region to taste traditional Slovenian regional food. It is tradition so you will find only family members working in there. Ask Franci (the ovner, and they'v been there for more than thre generations, all of them franci's, there is 100% chance that he will be searving you, father or son) what is fresh and sesonal from their garden, trees, or localy produced on the menu. The place is not wery fancy, but it is wery cosy atmosphere, and they are wery frendly, so order one of the best local beer that you can find only there, and grab a chat with Franci. He will love to share some storys from history, or whats new in town. From the food don't miss out (if you are a meet lover) fried chicken, their home made sort of salami, or ask for "koline" (sesonal). If you are not into meet, try "regrad" (sesonal) or home made "štruklji" and for a desert home...

Very good local beer (but unfiltered), very helpful waiter and great food even as the place does not look more than a cheap pub from the street.

We tried beef soup, the roasted sauce pasta (great idea!), the beans salad and the home made dried meat.

Odlična domaća gostiona s tradicijom. Već sam izgled oca i sina Privošnik odn. njihovi brkovi, govore o njihovoj osobnosti i posebnosti, što se preslikava na cjelokupni ugođaj. Odlična hrana, možda malo preskromne porcije, servirane u neuobičajenom posuđu koje naglašava taj domaći ugođaj, sve uz razumne cijene. Toči se pivo iz mjesne craft pivovare Green Gold proizvedeno specijalno za potrebe ove gostione, imena Franci (po vlasniku gostione), a tu je i GGB sezonsko pivo, voćno, s primjesom manga. Kvaliteta piva pomoći će nam zaboraviti njegove visoke cijene (4,00 i 4,50 € za krčag 0,5 l). Gostiona je uz cestu, pod nadstrešnicom je nekoliko stolova a ima ih i unutra. Vlastito manje parkiralište je nedaleko gostione. Konzumirana jela na slikama: goveđa juha s fritatima, mahune s čvarcima, kuhana govedina u varivu od krastavaca i pivo Franci, heljdini štruklji s orasima i marmeladom od brusnica i GGB...
