Guesthouse Pri zalogarju — Hotel in Železniki

We (family with 3 children) spent 7 nights in the large family apartment. It was probably the best apartment we ever visited, in all aspects: very well equipped -high quality beds, you get everything included-from towels and good liquid soaps to wachine machine and dish washer tableys. It's very big - a room for a couple downstairs with the rest of the apartment (including a large living room) and the kids room upstairs has 1 double bed and 3 single ones. Good air condition in the living room and in the upstairs room. There is large space and even a nice balcony. It's clean, and they changed the towels in the middle of our stay. The hosting family are very kind and attended to all our needs above all expectations. And a nice bonus is the restaurant- we ate there dinner twice and it's the best restaurant we ate in Slovenia-very tasty food, a variety of dishes fitting everyones' taste, and very reasonable pricing. The location is good as it's a driving distance to anything you wish to visit in Slovenia.||To sun up, this place is very highly...

After having read many positive comments about this guest-house I was expecting to experience the same as other visitors... Well, I actually was quite disappointed. It started from our arrival, as I was staying at the hotel with my partner. After having waited 10 minutes in the reception hall, without any sign saying where to go or where to ring ( the hall was being renovated , which is ok of course, but there could have been at least a sign or notice!) we were then welcomed in a pretty awkward and cold way by someone who seemed to hardly know the place. We stayed in a small room, with a really narrow double bed. My advice would then be: ask for a room with two single beds!! Then in the morning, breakfast was incredibly poor! Sorry but I have to say it, we only had some bread and German-made jam and yoghurt .... During ou stay we never had any friendly contact with anyone from the hotel. I'm sorry to leave this pretty negative comment, but my experience was not...

This place is fantastic. The food was exceptional good and made with love. The wine was well recommended and tasty from Slovenia. The host speak English and German if needed and did also give us food late in the evening after a longer trekking. We totally recommend this place to stay and enjoy a good vacation. Near by is our favorite spot in Slovenia with the most beautiful panorama we found (St. Primoz and Felicijan). The rooms are tidy and have a bath tube as well. Here a small story which we got from the host. The newer building next to the main house for enjoying the a wine outside in the evening shows beautiful craftsmanship in wood and they reused the old door (more than 200 years old) in the now 20 years (1999) new wood house.
