The farm itself is beautiful and located in a picturesque location. However, I must admit that the reception wasn't anything special. Firstly, there are no significant signs on the main road indicating the location. Although the people in that area are hardworking and genuine, I didn't feel anything extraordinary. The room was clean, but the bathroom was too small and impractical. When we arrived in the afternoon, we expected the "promised" peace and a unique experience. Instead, we were greeted with the noise of a gentleman mowing grass in a field directly next to the room for a good hour. Just noise... Then we went to dinner, which was good, but each wine they offered us was average. After dinner, a few people gathered in the courtyard for a small celebration, and we felt a strange noise in the room. It didn't bother me much since everything was happening normally. Silence was supposed to be observed from 11:00 PM onwards. However, in our room, we constantly heard the noise of chairs, tables, doors... I still don't know where it was all coming from. At 2:00 AM, the noise was so loud that I woke up six times. I couldn't bear it anymore. I dressed up and went to the hallway to see what was happening. I found an obviously drunk guest or at least that's how it seemed to me, who was banging on the doors non-stop! So he was making noise all night, and no one came to check what was going on. When we got up in the morning, we reported it to the reception, but we didn't receive any convincing apologies. Moreover, they charged us an additional €35 for drinks after dinner (we had a gift voucher for a top-notch dinner). I know that drinks are not always included with dinners, but they should have informed us about it instead of bringing us new wine with every meal. I would have been satisfied with just one glass. In short, I can't console myself that I had a very, very bad night, and by 9:00 AM, someone was already mowing grass and making noise again... In short, my experience was negative. Very negative. I hope it's just a coincidence! In this farm, unlike others I've visited, I didn't feel that homeliness and warmth one would desire. I definitely won't be...
Read moreIt was our first visit in Goriška Brda. Out first stop was in Briška hiša, whick I fully recommend because they are very kind and food is very tasty. Then we went to check in at rooms Stekar. We got cute tiny room but without tv or else. Just bathroom and very small bedroom. Our family counts 2adults and one infant. Then we went sightseeing and it was really beautiful. The nature is soo amazing. After seightseeing we came back for dinner, which to us were recommended by my friend who was also staying with her infant and biyfriend one month ago and she was blown away with everything. Dinner was average and we didn’t eat a dessert because it was late and baby was sleepy. They were very kind and they saved us panacotta for the next morning. So this was plus, but for 25€/dinner I think we deserve it. Dinner was very pricey for what did we get. But ok.... let me go on... in the morning there was beautiful view, nice table, kind owner. I can say they make excellent homemade marmelade. But again we had back luck or something and we got mouldy bread. Come on... seriously?? And there was no tea only coffee available. Maybe it was our mistake we didn’t ask for tea but owner was just asking us if we would like some coffee so we thought there is nothing else on menu. I was very dissapointed. At the end we pay staying 70€ like we had a normal room. Yes... and I forgot there was one big dirty towel which I couldnt use, so I took a shower and use the other towel from my partner. And with taxes and dinner 60€. So BIG DISLIKE. I was expecting to get consolation gift because of all troubles we were going thru bit no...so the house was beautiful from outside and people were nice, but everything else sucked... and I wuldn’t recommend no one of my...
Read moreRooms vary widely in size and quality. They were clean. Bathrooms were very small.||- The service was disastrous. When paying the receptionist was rude and cranky.||- Breakfast was very modest. Bread with butter and jam, coffee, crappy cheese and ham and a few bits of pastry. I've had better breakfasts in the cheapest hostels.||- But the worst part of the experience was dinner, which costs €30 for 4 courses.||2 vegetarians got the same food as non-vegetarians.||The starter was bruschetta - bread with tomato sauce and a piece of prosciutto - vegetarian option - just the sauce. With the mince with smoked meat, they just picked out the bits of meat - there were still a few bits of meat floating around. The pasta was with courgettes, cheese and ham - veggie option without the ham. It was almost inedible.||Main course: mashed potatoes, green beans cooked on an animal fat with bacon and a piece of pork -which was horrible. So for the vegetarian option they got only mashed potatoes.||We communicated our wish for vegetarian options 2 months in advance. We were charged full price for this mess. ||The wines were also...
