We chose this hotel due to its proximity to the airport, as we had flights early the next morning. We hoped to get a decent night's sleep before our transatlantic travels. However, on the night of our stay, we were kept awake all night due to a Brazil-themed birthday party that was hosted by the hotel. The braying donkey (!) should have been a clue that it was not going to be a normal evening.||||Our second floor room overlooked the courtyard where the party was taking place. We opened the windows in order to get some air flow, which unfortunately made the party seem extra loud. We were told by the hotel staff that the event would end by 11 o'clock. But, as I lay there at 2:35 a.m. listening to Jump Around by House of Pain being blasted by the DJ, I had to wonder if they meant 11 a.m., not 11 p.m. The manager on duty, who was attending the party, was unsympathetic and suggested that we close our windows (on a warm summer evening in a room with no air conditioning). The noise finally died down at around 4 a.m., and I was able to get about one hour of sleep before heading to the airport.||||I give the hotel 2 stars instead of 1 because they did ultimately agree to refund our money, the room was clean, and also our server at the hotel restaurant was very sweet. But, all things considered, our stay was awful. If partying until dawn is your jam, this may be the hotel for you. However, if you are looking for a quiet place to get some sleep, I cannot recommend the...

Read moreThis is a beautiful hotel located near the Ljubljana airport (10-minute drive). We stayed here one night before flying out of Ljubljana to come home from a two-week European vacation. It was me, my wife, and teen daughter. ||Pros:|Again, just a beautiful location in a small, picturesque Slovenian town. The room was big and had two separate bedrooms with a good-sized bathroom between them. The bedrooms are not jack-and-jill, they are separate. There is a Michelin-rated restaurant at the hotel as well.||Cons:|No A/C but we were able to get fans for both bedrooms which did help. It was unseasonably warm while we were there (temps 15F higher than normal). Not really a "con" but if you want to eat at the restaurant you need to make reservations. We didn't realize so we lost out (that was on us). ||However it did give us a chance to explore the surrounding towns a bit. About a 6-minut drive away we found a place called Bar Kern which was really cool. Two half-liter Unions and two glasses of white wine sets you back the princely sum of 8.40 euro. Stopped for gas and the attendant told us about a cool pizza place down the road called Pizzeria Dal Forno. We went there for dinner and it had a great time. Pizzas are big enough to split between two people. Daughter got the lasagna and enjoyed it. ||Overall it was a great location to stay if you want to be close to the...
