Pri Lenart — Hotel in Gorenja vas-Poljane

As with other reviewers, I can't rate Pri Lenart highly enough. It is worth 11/10. From the first enquiry with Luka you could see that they were super responsive and helpful. The accommodation is wonderful - in a small private hotel in a historic building that is beautifully maintained and spotless. The location is beautiful - near pretty mountainous areas and stunning scenery. The walks were somewhat challenging but so rewarding. The country side is diverse and beautiful, and we were taken on a variety of different routes. The hospitality is second to none. Luka and Zana were incredibly generous with their sharing of their culture and traditions. I felt like I had an insiders view of the country and its traditions and way of life. It was so special to be able to feel like you really could see the insights of this lovely country. And I have to mention the truely fantastic meals provided by Zana and served by Luka. It was of an incredibly high standard and complimented by lovely local wines. |I felt like I had been welcomed into a family - so different to the usual tourist experience. It surpassed my expectations and will remain in my memory as a wonderful holiday....

Everything about Pri Lenart is exceptional. From the moment we arrived and had our first, of many, drinks on the balcony we knew we were in for a fabulous week.Žana and Luka were wonderful hosts who introduced us to their incredible Slovenian food and wine and then took us on walks through their postcard-like surrounding countryside and places like Lake Bled to help us work off some of the calories!||Pri Lenart is a beautifully restored old home and barn that have been converted into an amazing hotel for up to eight guests. The rooms are spacious and feature the original timber ceilings and floors and extremely comfortable beds with beautiful bedding and toiletries. ||Each day following a long walk we would return to the outside balcony for a cup of tea or coffee and a fresh home-made cake. Some guests would then go for a spa to ease their muscles. Žana and Luka have hit upon the perfect combination of stunning location, superb organisation, wonderfully varied food and a welcome that is second to none. The hotel is small (with just 8 guests) and situated in an historic building typical of the area. ||The guided walks are interesting, have an appropriate degree of challenge and give an opportunity to learn something of the history of Slovenia and the way of life experienced high in the mountains whilst puffing up the "Slovenian Flat" to the next viewpoint. ||Žana is a genius in the kitchen with never a dull meal and Luka constantly on hand to administer beverages of every description. Eating an evening meal with a local farming family is an experience not to be forgotten; likewise the Schnapps at every opportunity!||Of course, none of this happens by accident and the high quality of the holiday and the happy faces of the guests is testament to the hard work and effort this lovely couple and their team of helpers put in to making our stay one that will stay long...
