House On The Hill — Hotel in Idrija

We stayed for 5 nights in the ‘House on the hill’, where the name couldn’t be more fitting. It takes 20 minutes and ~20 hairpin bends up the hill to get to this place, but it doesn’t disappoint one single bit! The house is next to a farm with 2 bulls, 2 calves, 2 pigs and 10 chickens and the kids could walk into the stable whenever they wanted to. It has beautiful views and all the privacy and outdoor space you could wish for. It has 2 bedrooms, of which one has 3 single beds, ideal for a family of 5 🥳 It comes with a hottub, a fire pit to roast marshmellows or have a barbecue and… 2 bunkers, dating back to WWII, built by the Italians. One is converted to a sauna and the other one leads you 50m into the hill… to a wine cellar 😄 There are plenty of trails to walk right from the property as well and last but not least: super friendly hosts! Big recommendation if you’d ever travel...

The house is gorgeous, the rooms are super sweet and very clean, the bed so comfy and the kitchen well equipped. On top of that you have a hot tub and a sauna to have some relaxing time after a day of hiking or biking. And as if that is not enough, the house on the hill is run by the nicest guys. Čudovito... že sam sprejem v hiško nama je bil zelo všeč - gostiteljica je res prijazna in gostoljubna, sama hiška je pa tako ali tako res prekrasna. Razgledi okrog nje pa še bolj. Edino pot do nje je kar izziv za nekoga, ki ne prenaša dobro ovinkov - ampak se je splačalo potrpeti. Izkušnja, ki ostane v spominu & ob priložnosti se sigurno...
