I rarely write reviews, let alone negative ones, but the experience we had in the restaurant of this hotel was so bizarre, I had to take some time and write it (even though almost a month later). We reserved our stay via telephone directly at the reception for three nights (Friday to Monday) where the receptionist was nice enough to give us 15% discount on our stay (great right!?). Upon the arrival, hotel looked nice and also the service including the breakfast and lunch was fine on the first day. Hotel has a nice pool inside and outside and everything is very quiet. Our problems started with the dinner the second day. Restaurant at the hotel has outside around 15 tables perhaps and 3 of them were taken when we arrived. We sat down and waited app. 15 min before someone attended us (even though staff was running around and attending other tables that came after us!). The waiter took our order (some vine, beef tartar and a plate of local sausages with cheese as a starter, as main course my wife decided for simple mushroom soup in a plate, and I went for mixed salad with grilled calamari). The waiter left our table and gave our order to the receptionist that was helping at the restaurant, and he then gave the order to the waitress that seemed to be responsible for the night. After that they brought us drinks quite quickly and then the whole mess started. After they served us drinks, for probably 30 min no one showed up at our table with starters. I barely managed to call the waitress asking why such a long time for simple starters while other tables that came after us are already eating their main courses? She explained (with somewhat high voice), or should I say "educated" me that they prepare beef tartar fresh and that takes them at least 30 min to do it (?!). Since I had never prepared a beef tartar, I did not say anything, but the explanation really seemed absurd! After that they quickly brought us our starters. After the starters they brough my wife a mushroom soup in a bread bowl which she did not order and to me my mixed salad. We mentioned to the waiter/receptionist that we ordered a standard mushroom soup and not in the bread bowl and he responded rapidly that this is what they gave him in the kitchen and that's the same thing anyway (even though it was actually more expensive). We said OK, we' re not going to complain. When my wife opened the tap of the bowl, the pan was completely empty with no soup inside, just the bottom was wet as if this was a plate of someone else that already finished with his soup. The receptionist defended himself that this is what they gave him in the kitchen and that the soup was probably sucked by the pan itself! Even if this explanation were true (which is just absurd!), you guys brought us an empty bowl on the table without any apologize whatsoever! The waiter took the bowl and brought a plate of soup to my wife. Oh, yeah, by the way, my calamari were cold, so I guess the salad was waiting to be picked up for some time already. During all this mess no one came to the table to apologize! After a while waitress passes by and asked if everything is OK and I mentioned all the problems which she just did not want to acknowledge! I asked for a receipt and when she gave it to me, she quickly apologized for "some misunderstanding" and said she's not going to charge me the second soup they brought. Wait, what?!?! As if all the bad service and explanation was not enough, she wanted to say that she made me a favor not charging the second soup! Seriously?! I would at least expect to get that soup for free anyway since it was a total ** up anyway from their side, not to think about that they probably brought us an empty plate of someone else anyway! I just could not believe what I was hearing! After that dinner, I decided we're leaving next morning and not stay until Monday. The price I had to pay, was without 15% discount. The air conditioning was not working at all in the room....
Read moreWe had a great time at Hotel Strk. We stayed one night there. The ambient is very cool and we would like to come back some time! The hotel has a nice, rustic air. Our room was small, but very cosy. It featured a balcony, a heated floor (super nice!), double bed, tv, AC, mini refrigerator. The hotel has incorporated a great restaurant where you can serve lunch and dinner until 21:00. There is a wonderful terasse of the restaurant which probably looks great in summer and autumn (due to the vine that grows over it). The food is a la carte and it is delicious. The staff from the hotel and restaurant is very nice. Inside the hotel there is a spa center with a small pool, a jacuzzi for aprox. 8 persons, 3 types of saunas. There is an outside pool in the summer as well. The property has a nice animal park and the whole garden view is amazing per total. I could only recommend to watch some of the guests better (e.g. some people got really drunk and broke/fell in the hall at around 2 - they were being loud and people were sleeping, families with children that jump and are being loud in the spa area). Because of these, some guests might feel uncomfortable or disturbed if they come there for a little peace and quiet. Overall, a good place to chill and...
Read moreHotel promises a lot, but reality is slightly different as expected. In that kind of a small hotel, staff should take much more care for the guest and promote their distillery and vine cellar etc. If you have a story to tell and things to show, promote it! Other issue is maintenance, hotel is not old, but there is a lack of maintenance or no maintenance at all. Hotel has mini wellness, but in the 30 ft swimming pool counter current flow was not working. Jacuzzi was also damaged, massage nozzles broken and selector buttons broken. In hotels small fitness elliptic trainer was broken. I mentioned that at the front desk upon check out and staff was surprised that I am first one to expose that problem, but the deficiencies are obvious. Rooms are clean and nice furnished, but in my case door were difficult to close and the bathroom seems to be renovated due to technical errors and 3 or 4 tiles didn’t match in the shower. I must say that private “intimate wellness” called heaven was really OK, I recommend it. Generally speaking place is great (there is really a lot to do and see), but I do not recommend it unless maintenance issues are fixed and staff gets more responsive and willing to show more warmth and hospitality typical for eastern...
