We stayed on a turist farm with a family. It on a very nice location, on top of the hill with very nice views around. It is quite big farm, with very nice, mostly new buildings. The room was very nice, with a balcony, airconditiong and with nice view to Boč. It has a double and bunk beds for kids and neccessary equipment including baby bath, baby potty, a kattle for a tea or coffee. Maybe there is a lack of some glasses and/or plates, but I am sure you can get it, if you ask. Otherwise it is preety new, with nice big bath.||The farm owners are very nice and trying to satisfy guest needs. We had only breakfast with more basic varitey. They could maybe add some more food for kids and for more persons around the table, bring some bigger plate with salami and cheese. We didn't have dinner, since there is some good restaurants around and it is to early for us - at 18h.||The surroundings is very nice. This year they build a very nice, smaller pool, but it is enough to relax and cool yourself. They have also a wellness center, but due to hot weather it was not apropriate for us to visit it. There is also a kids playground with trampolin, some slides and wooden houses. And of course there is a farm with chicken, pigs, cows, rabitts, gooses, cats and they also have a fenced hill with some running deers. They also drive small kids on a trailer of a tractor. ||There is also much to do around for a few days. We visited Podčetrtek castle, Olimie, specialed Chocolade store, monastery, Afrodita Cosmetics, Boč, etc. You can also drive a bicycle, since there are some cycle paths around.||What we expected some more of, was a visiting nearby farm for a cheese tasting. We agreed that we payed too much for a dinner of one piece of bread, a stew and strudel. We expected some more cheese to taste, not just 3 slices. ||Othervise a verywell kept farm and all compliments...
Read moreThe setting for this tourist farm is gorgeous. It sits atop a large hill, so your nice, clean rooms overlook beautiful valleys on every side. Friendly staff are helpful and will try to speak English as we tried to communicate in rudimentary Slovene. Their hearty breakfasts and even heartier dinners give you a good sense of authentic, traditional Slovene cuisine, so make sure you have a dinner here. We were lucky enough to be at the farm when they hosted a birthday party for a local, complete with polka-playing accordion. The location is perfect for day trips to localities such as Ptuj as well as for visiting Rogaska (don't miss a day at the Rogaska Riviera). ||||But as my title suggests, this may not be the best place for animal-lovers. As a meat-eater, I understand that animals are raised and slaughtered for food. But I also try to make sure that the meat I buy is humanely raised, and that is the problem I have with this tourist farm. In our four-day stay, neither the seven cows, the pony, nor any of the pigs left the small, fetid, excrement-filled barn. There was one rabbit in a bare wire cage outside of the barn (no water provided for it on 4 very hot days), and there were more with multiple rabbits inside the dark barn in similar but...
Read moreThe views are amazing, but I was expecting more. I was hoping to experience the full farm life experience, more interaction with guests, or a welcome drink or something. There was very little interaction with the owners. As for the food, we ordered dinner, n we wanted to order more, there was none left and that was that! they could sell us or offer something else, but they opted for "im sorry there is no food left". We paid, packed our stuff in the car and checked out, we asked if the kids could play a little longer on the playground n trampolin that they have on the property, we were told yes but for only 15 minutes, because they are expecting new guests. which was a very odd situation, like u paid, leave and thats. At the end, bad value for your money. sad but true, lots of potential, but there is a lack of skill and experience.
I am just speaking about my experience on the farm, free speech. In the future I will definitely pay more attention to the rules and...
