Country House Mirt — Hotel in Sevnica

The wonderful views are not enough to give five star review for this house. Although the area and house are really nice it wasn't our best experience in Slovenia. On our arrival we were told that the host's father will visit the house two times for some wine event and we agreed, but then the visits became regular and quite noisy and the owner even kept entering the house basement while we were at the house. For our 3 weeks stay we had him almost every day coming to the house, the yard and vineyard whenever he wanted without any notice and despite the fact the entire house was offered for rent. We are not into wine tourism and we are not interested in wine selling and vineyard maintenance, we'd rather prefer to have peace and quiet place we though country house Mirt was. Would not recommend to people that value their privacy. Cleaning and comfort facilities also...

The home owner was amazing 😍 we arrived a little late due to traffic, but the owner met us in an easy to find spot and drove in front of us to the house so we could find it easily. On the hilly roads we dutchies aren't used to, this was a great help! Before going here we were fantasizing about visiting a local vineyard. It's unfathomable how happily surprised we were to learn the home owner is a local wine maker! He had to do some work around the house completely understandable, when you are making art like this. He gave us the amazing opportunity to taste the developing wines while we stayed here. And learned us a lot about the process along the way ☺️.
