I was thinking long and hard before posting this review, as I have different feelings fighting inside me. But here it is an honest reflection of our experience

The hotel is a very small (4rooms), family run place. Views from the restaurant are amazing.

We had a good night sleep- beds and pillows were comfortable. Rooms are basic, but have everything you need and were cleaned daily.

We have booked our stay through a friend, as a part of her birthday party celebration. And therefore felt like we can trust the hosts

We were met very warmly, there was an issue with a bed for our 5year old, but they have managed to resolve it.

We had a dinner at their restaurant and even though all other tables were available and set up very nicely, we were given the only table that wasn’t set up. We have ordered one of their most expensive wines and the waiter brought us much simpler glasses then the ones from the “display” tables, which completely made me feel as I’m treated as some sort of second class person and I had to ask them to give us the better glasses. While ordering, we did ask for the menu numerous times, but the waiter continued to just tell us verbally what they have today, without mentioning the prices. The same was with the wines- there was no wine list and my husband had to ask how much each bottle was. The food was delicious and presented beautifully. Steak was done to our request. We have asked for the bill, but they said they would put it on the room. So again, we were unable to see what the prices were

The breakfast was average: we had tea/coffee/hot chocolate, ham, butter, bread and few pots of yoghurt. you could also ask them to cook eggs or pancakes for you. Again, there was no menu and at times we felt a bit awkward asking for anything extra.

Also, there was no house rules- they treated us as a house guests, rather then hotel guests (for example there were no set breakfast times or dinner times) which might sound great, but in reality after seating for one hour for breakfast enjoying my morning coffee and beautiful view(like you would in a normal hotel), I felt that I’m being annoying to the hosts.

To cut the long story short, we were presented with a bill at the check out and the prices were the highest we paid anywhere In Slovenia. (For example the steak with truffle was 47 euro (per dish), a plate of domača klobasa was 18 euros, etc

I wouldn’t mind if it was straight forward and was my honest choice, but as I have never seen the menu, I can’t help feeling that I have been taken advantage of. This has spoiled our holiday mood. And I kept thinking about this situation for few days after

The top it all up, I asked if they could do some laundry for us and it was just one load. I asked at least 3 times how much would it cost, they said it wouldn’t be much, in the end I was presented with a bill of 53 euros for it and was told that they were able to offer me a discount.😅 Just to put it into perspective, I was charged no kore then 10 euros per load in Austrian 4 star hotels before.

All in all, would I recommend visiting the place- yes- overall the stay was good and the food too. But if you are not Slovenian - do insist to see the menu or ask how much everything is cost - each meal!

To be honest, this whole situation put me off and I feel like we were cheated. Maybe not, but I can’t find one reason why else we were not shown the menu and the prices were well above everywhere else we have been...

Just had a company meeting (17 pax) in Sevnica and Dolinšek family hosted our gala dinner ... after we agreed about prices and details of menu and vines, we got just excelent service, food was superb and vines matched each course ... before we started dinner, we were welcomed by local salami and view of jewlery shop beneath the restaurant ... they just couldn’t do enogh for us . I would recommend it for any company meeting or dinner, being a simple one or even...

We went for a family Sunday lunch to Dolinšek with a typical Slovenian fare. The beef soup was good but a tad too weak. The main course with a variety of meats and side dishes was very tasty, but I am knocking off a point because some of the items were served almost cold. The desert and the coffee were very good. The place operates a big open area and can get noisy, but the service was super efficient and kind. The views, however, are...

Pulitissima, elegante. Entriamo in bagno e... Wow...
