The previous two commenters appear to be outraged about a normal practice. GDPR permits copies of documents under many circumstances which override the citizens right to privacy - paramount amongst these is one of law enforcement. If you dont like how a country legally does things, then go somewhere else...
As for the accomodation, it's a spectacle in wood - I imagine it's an old repurposed hunting lodge or similar. Clean comfy beds, ensuite bathrooms, at a great price. The owner is a Moldovan and he couldn't have been more helpful, and we got some amazing Modovan/Rumaniam dumplings cooked by him whcih tasted great.
Surroundings are fantastic, you might even be lucky enough to glimpse a bear in the forest, and for a stopover or a longer stay this place is great. I will certainly be back...
