We spent 5 nights at pro Lovcru and we can wholeheartedly recommend it as an amazing place to stay. We loved the hospitality we received there, especially from Nastja, who spoke great English. We ate several meals, breakfast and dinner, on the farm and Marija's cooking is Slovenian farm fare taken to a higher level. The farm occupied the kids with swinging, helping take the cows in/out of pasture, and milking, as well as looking at the chickens and pigs and watching the cheesemaking. We did some great activities close to the farm too - a great hike leaving right from Cadrg, a drive down to the park along the river just before Tolmin... Did we mention the cheese? We really loved the cheese they make on the farm and appreciate all of the hard work that goes into it. We also explored the Soca Valley, which is easily accessible from the farm (although the drive up/down is quite harrowing the first time you do it). The apartment was good for a family of four (a bit small, maybe, as a one bedroom with pull-out couch), but we really loved it and it was so quiet at night! All in all, an amazing place with amazing people. We're grateful to the Boncina's for sharing their...
Read moreWe stayed here for almost a week and it was a wholesome Slovenian rural experience. From the start we were welcomed with drinks and warm hospitality, and communication when booking a tent pitch was easy and quick.
The farm is beautiful and serene, nestled on the side of a mountain with peaceful fields as you look down into the valley, there’s also a pool and plenty of space to relax. Breakfast was fantastic (and almost too generous!) — yoghurt, cured meats, fresh vegetables, eggs, bread, cheese, pear juice, and coffee.
The family who run the place are incredibly kind and accommodating. They even made sure my pregnant partner was extra comfortable with blankets, pillows, and chairs to rest on. Their calm, welcoming energy makes the whole atmosphere feel special.
A lovely place to stay if you’re looking for nature, good food, and genuine hospitality.
Note: We were told there is no lunch/dinner available this year (2025), although I saw folks popping in for some cheese and meats...
Read moreNice tourist farm in Triglav national park in Soča valley. The road is a challenge because going up into the mountains very steep, but also very nice, passing Tolmin gorges. We visited the village to have Sunday lunch here and to enjoy in the fresh air in the mountains. We were served with very delicious fresh local food and drink prepared by housewife. People are very friendly; children were happy to see so many animals at the farm. You can see here the only one preserved indigenous local pig - Slovenian autochthonous pig breed - Krškopolje pig. They are very big. We made some short walks, we saw many fruits on the trees around, view to the mountains and pastures around is beautiful, we saw also Javorca church down in the valley. At the end we bought some cheese produced...
