I stayed here with my friends for one night. The place is located in the middle of the wood, but near the cable car parking (I'm referring to the cable car that conducts to Velika Planina). The position is not so comfortable, because in order to reach the structure, is necessary to drive few minutes on an uphill, two-way dirt road. The parking of the structure is small and always full. Near the guest house there is a parking area for van an camper. We have expected for a while in order to park our car, and when finally another car left his place, we took that parking. But the best is yet to come, because we had a row with some very unpolite french tourists that asked us (in agreement with the guesthouse's owner, because obviously they would have paid a fee to park) to park their van in the space in which we already have parked our car, telling us, lying, to park then our car behind their van, because they would not move again for all the night from the parking. We were in doubt to accept, but in the end, only to make a kindness, we move up the car to let them park, to discover in the end, that our car didn't fit. The owner then suggested that we park in inappropriate places, such as in the middle of the road, saying that no one would pass by anymore. In the end, after like half an hour, we decided to move down and leave the car in the cable car parking, more safe in our opinion. We reached then the guest house walking by foot like ten minutes. The french tourist and also the owner, despite seeing the inconvenience they were causing us, they didn't care and made absolutely no mention of moving their camper, they spoke to each other calmly, as if nothing had happened. This is the price, and the thanks in order to try to be kind with people. Beyond this, I have to Say that the price for eat are absolutely expensive: we had dinner eating two plate of chicken skewers, One portion of cevapcici (tradional Slovenian plate) , fried potatoes for three, one portion of dessert (shared with three of us) all for the unjustified price of. 74€ !! (Without receipt). The room moreover was very hot, we have to expect around 4 am in order to feel some fresh air spreading from the wood around. I surely...
Read more😊: The location, atmosphere and cleanliness make this place shine! It is a few minutes walk from the cablecar station that takes you up to Velika Planina (a place where anyone can take a good walk with a view to spectacular mountains) and 5 minutes to a parking place from where you can reach 2k+ peaks if you are up to it. The staff is also very friendly, naturally and directly warm, especially the "head lady" :). She is looking after you (greeting message written in your (inferred) mother tongue, notifying if you left your headlight on, for example. The atmosphere is excellent. One has a choice of putting up a tent, parking a caravan or booking a small room in the main house itself. But the cool thing is the central eating place behind the house, a fusion between a pub and a countryside restaurant. In addition, while the rooms are basic and tiny (our double room was about twice the size of the bed with a 45 degree tilted ceiling cutting the airspace in half), they are clean and so are the (shared) bathrooms. One could also mention the food that is good although not cheap (see below).. 😢: There is nothing I would not like but mention two aspects. First, I think the place is excellent for what it is: a sport hostel. Be mindful of this. Rooms and facilities are simple but do the job very well. Secondly, note that the food you buy on the spot is not cheap. It is not mandatory to buy it: tent dwellers happily eat their own food around the arranged eating place, even though not buying anything at all would be strange. However, if you eat in, it can be relatively expensive: with a beer and a glass of wine, you would pay easily EUR 60 for a warm but simple dinner for two. Breakfast is EUR 14 (note making sandwiches is not detested but encouraged!). This is on par with any city in the EU. But again: you are in the mountains, there is no restaurant in sight and the food is good. We happily on both evenings of our stay and had breakfast. So if you know what you are in for, you'll be...
Read more😊: This is a really magical place, amazing vibe, beautiful location. The restaurant serves really really good food, so I would recommend eating there. Very nice people work there, with the main host lady definitely being "a character" :) sometimes things get a bit disorganized but it is mostly because there are too many people and it is difficult to handle.. 😢: The place is supposed to be a low-key hostel/camping place, but the prices do not correspond to this - it is a bit too expensive. Of course, there is a demand and people will pay, but it is still too pricy. Breakfast is €28 for 2ppl, which is A LOT, given there is no other place to eat (it is a very good breakfast though). On the campsite, there seem to be too many people, not enough toilets and showers. There was no hot water. These things did not bother us as we were there for 1 night and it was more of an experience, but yeah, can be problematic/annoying especially when travelling with kids. Still, we loved it and will definitely be back when travelling...
