Let me start with the apartment, whose 'fit and finish' is so affected that it is obvious that not much has been invested in the finished tourist resort experience since it opened. Outdated furniture showing signs of ageing, dirty walls, worn floor coverings, damaged switches and large cracks in the walls immediately lower the expected standard at first glance. The mattress is extremely uncomfortable. The bed linen is not suitable for hotel accommodation and the pillows have turned yellow under the pillowcase. The room is dusty and full of cobwebs. For a four-star hotel, I find it unacceptable that guests are threatened with a fine for not washing the dishes when there is no detergent or other washing-up supplies in the apartment.Oh an there is an expectation for you to take out your own rubbish. Food is often not labelled, so many products are not known exactly what they are. The lack of allergen descriptions adds to the challenge. There is no vegetarian option in the half-board. In addition to the dilapidated furniture in the dining room, the tables were not clean and the tablecloths were not changed, which led to my sweater getting soaked in a chocolate when I sat down to dinner. No one offered drinks during dinner and the service remains at the level of a pub.
Overall bad value for money there are plenty other...
Read moreWe spend two or three weekends every year at one of near or not so nearby spas. So far, Terme Snovik are at the lowest point. It is not rock bottom, but it certainly isn’t blue skies either. While I would recommend it for couples and elderly society, the thing with young family is far from that. The reception desk is short both in space and employees, the pool entry machine is obsolete, pools are great though, water is super clean and just warm enough, outdoor pools are good, slides and playground too. Cafeteria is slow, menus are all the same. Being a spa, the dining area should be larger and more open, certainly faster and smarter. Don’t bother ordering to-go, the wait and the food aren’t worth it. Staff was nice and kind, but all words, not much else. Receptionist did not have a clue what he or she was doing, waiters are outnumbered, the pool animator lost her gift of voice. The only one I really liked was an older waiter at the dinner, who forgot how to use POS terminal, but turned it all into a joke, so we all laughed. That is the exact thing that is missing. The attitude of staff and the organization of the place. I would recommend Snovik for one day swim and for families with older kids, 4 at least. Prepare yourself for an apartment experience and not...
Read moreFamily and elderly friendly thermal spa, very calm and enjoyable, we took a destressing vacation there as a childless career couple. They have day activity programs and such, dinner is self-serve buffet, breakfast is continental. There is order meals as well, but are made by the same kitchen. The lodging is apartments with or without kitchen and/or balcony; For those that want to cook their own meals. They are accomodating for people with dietary restrictions in the restaurant as well, but don't expect too much in terms of variety or quality. There is an indoor(heated) and outdoor pool, park gym equipment, spa and massage services. The rooms rank 4 stars only by a legal margain as they do have AC and a fridge, but the fridge is tiny, and they only work when you are present(card system), I would rate them lower. But we spend most of the time enjoying the activities or hiking, so that wasn't very important. The nature sorounding the place is amazing for anyone enjoying a hike, or bike ride(rental available) but even if you just want a relaxing time by the pool... it's good value for a calming, family, or elderly setting....
