I've stayed at Kamniti Rob twice now, each time my expectations were exceeded. The hosts, Predrag and Barbara, are so welcoming, and the views from the terrace looking towards the sea at Koper are outstanding. Breakfasts are a real treat, something home cooked and different every day, using local produce. The bedrooms are in a simple rustic style, very comfortable, and the air-conditioning is a boon during the summer months. It has been exceedingly warm for the past week. Podpeč itself is a very pleasant little village, nestling under a Venetian defensive tower, which you can walk up to. It has a very pretty little church, St Helens, which has some fragments of 14th-century murals. Read morePodpeč is a lovely village high up on the side of the Rižana valley. The guesthouse is at the top end of the village, almost beneath the Venetian lookout tower on the cliff above. The views from the garden and the bedrooms over the valley towards the Adriatic are spectacular. The rooms themselves are very pleasant, a comfy bed, air conditioning and a fridge. Good bathroom too, with lots of towels, soaps & shampoo and a nice forceful shower. The breakfasts are really special, Barbara is a great cook with a different hot dish each day using fresh local ingredients, her rocket pesto is very special as was the prosciutto and red wine omlette/pancake she made on Wednesday. She and her husband Predrag are great hosts, with lots of advice on things to do, places to go and restaurants to eat at. I can't wait...

With stone houses, narrow streets, morning walk is a mixure of pleasurness anywhere you turn around.||Very unique stay, the house is cosy and warm, every detail you see is something special, something old, something new, seasoned with great hospitality of the owners.||Home made Istrian breakfast, bread was still warm, my favourite was with fig jam and fresh fig from fig tree just in front of the house.||We had really relaxed weekend getaway and I still want some more of that warm and cosy feeling and miss the smell of the sheets, that was quite uniqe, sweet but not only lavender, calm and fresh. ||And use the shampoo, the smell of lemon in my hair was there all...
