Hotel Mantova — Hotel in Upravna Enota Vrhnika

As we visited for the first time, we noticed the ‘old fashioned’ saloon furniture. Not sure if they want the vibe and style inside to be this ‘old fashioned’ or maybe they just have not refurbished in a very long time. Either way, the space was crammed with people. The tables are really very small and the sitting is not that great.

The staff is slow and inefficient. One server went to check with the chef if we could still order breakfast, even though’ we had breakfast at this hour the last time we were there (weekend). And came to tell us we can still order breakfast. After 4-5 min a new server, that was quite rude, came to tell us, we actually can’t order breakfast and to choose something else, whiles throwing the menu on our table and leaving.

The food is average at best, except for the American style pancakes, those are wonderful and I recommend them to anybody that has a sweet tooth. Other dishes are bland, and made from low quality ingredients. They try to present the food as well as they can, but with such low-quality ingredients, it doesn’t really help.

The fresh orange juice was nice every time we came to visit. And the coffee is ok.

The prices are average I would say.

If I would visit again, I wouldn’t order any of the breakfast dishes with eggs, but maybe the pancakes. Along with the fresh orange juice and some...

Mostly - a very positive experience. Our bedroom was recently renovated, and was lovely and spacious. All the basic facilities worked very well - comfortable bed, good shower - but there were also nice touches - a kettle with a good range of teabags, enormous TV, lots and lots of plug points, two spaces for suitcases to be opened, sensible amounts of storage, etc etc.|The staff were very pleasant and welcoming.|The hotel restaurant also did a good range of food, which was well-prepared and well-presented. We had pastas and salad - all were good, if not special - a safe option where we would eat again.|The only miss - which makes 4-star review, not a 5-star - was breakfast, which was underwhelming. It had the basics of hot and cold options, but only just, and was not nearly as good as other places we have eaten in Slovenia. The range was small, and dishes ran out and were not replaced until the staff...

Me and my girlfriend who is vegetarian came on breakfast in simple dresses, we were treated like we're something less. The waiters was catastrophic. Breakfast, was served cold, also coffee. croissant with chocolate which supposed to be last one, was hard as brick.. ok we can manage that. but we cannot manage cold food, pre made toasts with cheese who taste like ham.. also we wanted to order more, but hell no, the table wasn't deserved until after i said to the bartender that he must make room on the table.. I would understand if terrace would be full, but come on guys there were 3 bartenders and 18 people in whole restaurant.. if that wasn't enough, when i got to bar to pay, their computer didn't work and had to wait for additional 10minutes.. so tnx for disappointment, you did it very well! se you on 4th of neverery. best regards local...
