Motel Majolka — Hotel in Videm

Travelling from Frankfurt down to Athens, Greece and after driving almost 8-9 hours (800+ Km) through Germany and Austria we were tired enough and hungry. So we were looking for a place to sleep and go on next day. Passing Maribor for 20-25 Km you come to an area called Ptuj. On the side of the road we saw the sign of the hotel Gostisce Majolka. Turned left and found ourselves in front of the hotel parking space. Asked for a double room, we were given one in 1st floor. ||Hotel + : brand new and very clean room, very quiet, tidy and cozy. Plenty of breakfast choices, very reasonable price/night. Breakfast is served at the restaurant in ground floor. Croatian borders in about 25 - 30Km||Hotel - : small room for two single beds||If you are a tired traveler and you want to spend your night in a place where you can sleep comfortably eat good, pay less, you will appreciate what Gostisce Majolka...

I’ve stayed here overnight a number of times, getting ready to cross border early next day, so know this place and staff well. There was always something we had to compromise on, but this time they’ve gone too far. After arriving here at midnight with our 2 kids we were openly told the place is overbooked and instead of a room with 4 beds, all they could offer us are 3 beds only. Regardless the fact, that they reconfirmed our booking earlier in the morning! But we accepted it humbly, as there were others behind in the queue, asking what has happened to their reservation.. I had a very pleasant stay at this motel. The room was exceptionally clean, which immediately made me feel comfortable and at ease. Everything was tidy and well-maintained, from the fresh linens to the spotless bathroom. The layout of the room was simple yet practical with plenty of space to unpack and relax.
