Pacific Casino Hotel — Hotel in Guadalcanal Island

We stayed one night at the Pacific Casino hotel due to a delayed flight.

The hotel looks very basic and dated from the outside, but the rooms are actually considerably better than the outside appearance suggest. We stayed in a basic room with city view, the size is rather small there isn’t much space around and in front of the bed.

Everything was clean and functional, the air-condition works well and is relatively quiet. (at another hotel in Honiara it was so loud that we could hardly sleep). The bed is comfortable and the sheets were fresh and clean.

The bathroom is a bit on the simple side, but the shower had decent water flow and the hot water was working well.

Internet speed in rooms is ok, but requires a voucher, which is limited to 1.5GB data. We were told by the reception that we could just ask for another voucher in case we ran out of data. But we didn’t use that much actually.

One of the highlights of this place is their restaurant on the 2nd floor. We had fantastic western and Malaysian Chinese food. The Calamari batter was full of flavor and super crispy, the sour and spicy soup was very tasty, and the fried noodles had really good ‘wok hei’. We stayed on a Friday night and the restaurant was packed full with locals and expats… always a good sign. There’s also a life band that is playing a wide repertoire from cheesy love songs to pop and rock hits.

Menu is set with limited options and quite a few items 86d, could use a menu revamp to bring some more choices and keep competitive with other places in Honiara.

Food was delicious just tedious after 3 weeks of the same rotating limited options, a selection of import beers or PNG beers would go a long way also as Solomon Islands beer while nice can become quite bland after a while so a few more options would be well received.

Gorgeous views, nice gym and a great pool.

Entertainment on a Friday and Saturday night is excellent.

Good prices on the beer, spirits are a little over priced and the cigarettes are also as you can buy a packet 30 metres down the road for nearly $15 cheaper.

Rooms are very nice and housekeeping attends daily as well as daily...

This "hotel" is a ruin so to speak!

They insult and physicly harm, harras and follow customers throughout town!

The entire hotel is moldy - The rooms the showers, the sinks are falling of, they have insects such as cockroaches in the room! The wallpaper falls of the wall because the roof has aparently holes! If you talk to the employes you need to give step by step advise as they are uncapabel to take more than one task at a time! The restaurant doesnt get your orders correctly and you need to order things twice every single time because they made mistakes in the order! Just avoid the place!! Sheets have dirty stains on them!!
