This community owned nature reserve on the boarder of Kruger National park is a brilliant way to have close up experiences with the animals. All the staff are welcoming and very knowledgeable, which really enhanced the experience. I much preferred coming here to Kruger due to the care taken by the guides and the one on one time we got to spend with them. There were so many animals and they all looked happy and healthy. The team take a lot of pride in this place and the warmth is felt. I plan on coming back and highly suggest others to due to it being an experience you dont want to miss out on

Exceptional location right by the banks of letaba river, unfenced and offering magnificent views. The tent was very comfortable and the whole camp was very well equipped. The game drive and walk was really great as our guide Fanie gave us plenty of interesting details about tracking. We encountered buffalos on our morning walk and enjoyed our stay very much!

We stayed there for couple of nights and had amazing experience. Beautiful nature, there is nothing like sleeping under the stars, hearing the river, crickets and hippos. The camp staff were so friendly and informative. The food was outstanding and beautifully presented. Definitely recommended!

I took my wife for a round trip in the Kruger for her birthday and two of the nights was at Mtomeni Safari Camp. |This camp is not a luxury camp with restaurant etc. and if that is what you are looking for rather go somewhere else. However, if you are looking for a wonderful bush experience, in very impressive tents and self catering then this is perfect. |The entrance gate needs serious repair and our first impressions were uh-oh but when arrived at the camp we were very happy, the tents are in perfect condition and the views onto the Letaba River are beautiful. I personally loved the fact that the camp is not fenced, however, no animals came really close during our stay. |Our game rangers were Edwin and Patrick, both are incredibly knowledgeable and it was a pleasure listening to some of their stories. |We will go back gladly and looking forward to when...

I stayed here for one night in May, as part of a tour. My 'room' was a tent on a platform, with a wooden frame and full bathroom (which was unexpected, and welcome). As tents go, it was pretty nice, and it was exciting to have a view of elephants in the river from my porch. The meals (supper and breakfast) were both quite good. On the other hand, the jeep ride from the gate to the camp site was pretty uncomfortable, as was the safari drive, which was kind of a bust. So there's room for improvement. But it was a nice...
