Gamamadi Guest house is situated about 20km from Three Sisters, so you have to organize for dinner or bring your own food or meat to braai . Annalize is a great host and she contacted us early morning to make dinner arrangements as they are not close to town but they serve meals by arrangement. Upon arrival she welcomed us in a warm manner, showing us our room and inviting us to sit at the warm fire place whilst out dinner was prepared. Our room was a bit small but had everything we need and a Electrical blanket as it was very very cold. There is a panel heater that warms up the room. For breakfast there is Coffee and tea, homemade rusks, cereal and milk in the room. There is a bar fridge with cold drinks in the room guests can buy. We had a great dinner and will...
Read moreWe stopped over at GaMamadi on our way from Durban to Worcester. It’s the third time we have been there. The usual warm welcome from Annalise Marais who is an exceptional host, made us feel most welcome. The room was just ideal for our stay. A short walk on the farm, a working Karoo sheep and angora goat farm, was most needed after our day traveling. Everything was clean and all Covid protocols were met. Breakfast fit for a king and queen was served in our room at 7:00. A full breakfast was prepared to perfection and at a cost from the 1980’s. So, please, if you are looking for a stop over, close to the N1, in a good position between Cape Town and Durban or Johannesburg, which is not the New York Ritz, take advantage of this great value and great...
Read moreWe have been visiting GaMamadi as a stop-over between Joburg and Cape Town for at least the past 7 years with kids and dogs. Friendly, consistent service and excellent value for money. Well-equiped, neat and clean units with breakfast cereals, tea and coffee, rusks and milk - which makes for a convenient quick breakfast before hitting the road again. Dinner braaipacks offer good variety, including a very nice salad. Honesty bar in each unit is conveniently stocked. The bar/restaurant area in the garden also has a nice atmosphere (we have not yet tried their meals). We enjoy being able to go for a walk or cycle in the Karoo veld or a dip in the pool after a long trip. Dogs also enjoy their freedom. Annalise will also refreeze icebricks over...
