Joalani Guest Farm — Hotel in Beaufort West Local Municipality

I made a booking in advance via Safari Now and arrived after 19h00 on 23 Dec 2019. I expected a room and was told the booking was for a camping stand (for whatever reason) , leaving me with no choice but to find alternative accommodation||||There were numerous vacant camping sites by that time of night. The owner certainly did not forfeit any income due to my cancellation or having to turn away potential customers, yet she refused to refund my deposit||||The owner told me face to face that I should claim the deposit back from Safari Now. Upon doing so they informed me that the owner subsequently changed her mind by refusing the refund||||I consider this as deliberate exploitation of travellers. Claiming money without providing any service and without suffering financial loss...

All the camping reviews, telling about kitchen and other facilities that was available to use, is not true. I was told by the owner that he only supply ablution facility and campers must provide for them self's for the rest. We had no fireplace, no tap for water, no rubbish bin and no hot water shower. At 20h00 there was no hot water and at 04h00 the next morning still no hot water. The electricity available, we were told, was from solar, so it was basically for lights. They did no feel it was necessary to tell us that the hole place was fully booked with construction truck drivers that flooded the place at 17h00.
