On arrival we were greeted by the most friendly Owners Oom Gert en aunty Julia ,with cupcakes and scones arriving later with first night stay braai , all prepared by her and her staff. Every morsel and home bakes was over the top . Baked bread, jams , pickles , cupcakes, scones that any cake lover will rave about for years .,The over night house Standhuis was just as magical and magnificent with soft beds ,rustic designs and a donkey boiler deck pool , with views of the open savannah stretching for mile and miles, The hiking trails we took too were well marked easily followed to and from central station house. Indoor and outdoor braais mean that come rain or shine, there can be braaied!
The house is spacious, super clean and has everything you need.
There are beautiful, well marked hiking trails, just keep in mind that you are in the Karoo. (Hike early, take enough water. Wear a hat.)

Hi everyone If this site had 7 stars i would have given Kalkfontein guest farm the 7 including Oom Gert and Tannie Julia!! Never in my life have I met such beautiful people and a place in my entire life. I dont even want to give them a good rating because I want to hide this little gem from the rest of the world so that I will always have a place there when making a booking.
