WOW, what can we say! My husband and I stayed at Kuzuko Lodge for our honeymoon, and it was truly the trip of a lifetime. We actually won our stay through a silent auction and had no idea just how incredible this experience would be. We were some of the first guests to stay after the lodge’s refurbishment, and it was absolutely beautiful. The atmosphere was so peaceful and quiet, and it was lovely to meet other guests from all over the world who were just as amazed by the experience as we were. From the moment we arrived, the staff were exceptional. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and every single member of the team went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. A huge thank you to Sam, Siya, Teresa, Zee, and Thomas. Your warm smiles, friendly chats, and thoughtful hospitality made us feel so welcome. Every time we walked through the door, we were greeted with a smile, offered a drink, and treated like family. I have a gluten and dairy intolerance, which can be difficult when travelling, especially somewhere so remote. But Kuzuko Lodge catered for me wonderfully. I had fresh gluten-free bread and muffins every morning, and they even remembered our coffee, tea, and evening drink orders each day. For a lodge in the middle of nowhere, their attention to detail was outstanding. The food overall was amazing, and Siya made our honeymoon extra special by turning one of our lunches into a private dinner experience. We were offered Champagne and delicious food while we watched the incredible views. The food was adapted so well for me that I had no issues at all. If something on the menu was usually made with gluten or dairy, it was simply prepared differently to suit my needs. We also had the same servers throughout our stay, which really put me at ease because I did not have to explain my dietary requirements each time we ate. A special thank you also goes to Sim, our amazing game driver. We had never been on a safari before, but Sim immediately put us at ease. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and determined to help us see all of the Big Five, which he did. We saw lions, rhinos, elephants, buffalo, and cheetah, as well as zebras, giraffes, ostriches, various antelope, warthogs, a martial eagle (Sim was shocked by this sighting), a brown hyena, and even a bat-eared fox. We went on two game drives a day for five days, and every single one was magical. Stopping for morning and evening drinks while watching the sun rise or set over the landscape was one of the most peaceful and breathtaking experiences we have ever had. We also experienced both the lions and cheetah's eating, this is obviously not for everyone but it amazing to see the animals doing what animals are supposed to do. We had a small issue during our stay when a couple of birds decided to make a nest in our ceiling. Siya was so helpful and immediately found us a new lodge to move to and even helped us with our bags. Nothing was ever a problem, and the kindness of the team really stood out. We loved learning about the history of the reserve and how the lodge employs people from local communities. It is wonderful to see a place that not only offers luxury and comfort but also gives back in such meaningful ways. Kuzuko Lodge is a private game reserve, meaning it is part of the Addo Elephant National Park through a conservation partnership, essentially a park within a park. The setting, the views, the wildlife, and especially the people made this the most unforgettable honeymoon we could have imagined. Thank you, Kuzuko Lodge, for everything. You made our stay beyond special, and we cannot wait to come back one day. (P.S Apologies for the late review - this should not reflect our experience we are just really bad at life admin 😅)

Our stay at Kuzuko Lodge has been absolutely unforgettable. We had the opportunity to go on three game drives, and while we almost saw the full Big Five, we were amazed by the sheer number and variety of animals we encountered during our time here. Every drive felt like a new adventure. From the moment we arrived, the staff—from reception to the game rangers—have been nothing short of exceptional. Their warmth, professionalism, and genuine passion for what they do made us feel welcomed and cared for at every step. A special mention must go to the game rangers who brought the bush to life with their knowledge and enthusiasm. The food is at an international standard—beautifully presented, full of flavor, and with great variety. Every meal felt thoughtfully crafted, and the service was impeccable. What truly sets Kuzuko apart is the hands-on management and attention to detail that is evident in every part of the experience. The entire lodge is run with heart and passion. The land itself is breathtaking—vast, peaceful, and incredibly well preserved. It’s clear that conservation is a priority here, and that just adds to the depth of the experience. We cannot recommend Kuzuko Lodge highly enough

Our stay at Kuzuko Lodge in the Addo region was absolutely wonderful. The lodge is set on 35,000 acres of private land and home to the Big Five. The welcome was incredibly warm and personal. The food was excellent, and the kitchen took great care to accommodate our allergies. We had a fully accessible room, and everything worked perfectly. Because of my muscle condition, I occasionally needed some help – and every time, the staff immediately assisted with genuine kindness. Our ranger, Sim, was extremely knowledgeable and experienced – he has been working at Kuzuko for over 12 years. On our very first drive, we set out to find the lions, which had been spotted earlier resting. Since lions sleep up to 20 hours a day, that part wasn’t too difficult! We found two males and two females together – two of the Big Five already checked off! 😎 For our 25th anniversary, the team surprised us with a beautiful heart made of flowers – it was truly amazing and so thoughtful! A truly memorable and accessible safari experience. Highly recommended for anyone – especially travelers with mobility needs.

Right where do i start. I have given five stars as believe it is well deserved, however there is some areas that i personally feel they need working on. Lets do the positives as they are more fun.

Location is out of this world. The scenes from the lougne window i just can't put into words. Everywhere is very clean and well looked after. We were greeted with a hot towel and a hand massage. Nice touch. The cabins again had amazing views. Large bed plus sofa bed for my daughter. All clean with a big bathroom with a bath. There are quite a few steps to our cabin but there is disabled access also. The staff were hard working and a particular positive shout out to Roxy, Angus and Murry who we enjoyed the safari tours with them. Also Patrick in the restaurant where nothing was any bother to him. Thanks all. We managed to see 4 out of the big 5 plus so much more. Horse riding is a must when you visit. While on the horses we got up close and personal the giraffes. Ask for Roxy and she will explain all. It was just amazing. I can't thank the team enough for this. Lunch was the best meal for us. So simple yet so delicious.

Ok things i personally feel they need to work on. When we arrived we didn't really know what we were doing. No one ever told us times of meals, tours, what was included etc etc. There seemed to be a lot of staff looking lost. Saying that they were always happy to help when you asked. Dinner was amazing and i can't fault most of the meals, although being in the sticks there was limited choice. Soup, choice of 2 starters, maybe 3 or 4 mains, and then 2 puddings. This goes for the wines as well. Many wines on the menu but sadly not available. Breakfast is a buffet which is more than fine but many times needed to ask the team to warm the breakfast up. There was plenty of choice.

Finally a massive shout out to Precious. Friendly and made our stay truely memorable. Thanks Precious and...
