Had an amazing emergency stay in July 2022!
A friend and I (couple of youngsters) were driving down to Plett on a job, every place we called couldn't take us, had issues, or was above our budget.
Then we found this gem!
We arrived an hour after we were expected (after they had closed reception for the night!) but once we found an employee they took great pain and effort to help us out and show us the camping area.
The ablutions were clean, the water hot, and the campsite perfect (bring a groundsheet).
The best part of staying there were the stars! Stargazing was something else!! You could see the Milky Way!!! Was a great view to watch while eating supper.
Unfortunately we had to leave before sunrise and could not thank the staff in-person for an amazing experience.
Thank you to the staff and management at Ganora for a beautiful experience, and for being understanding and considerate for two inexperienced youngsters.
Only concern is the road to get there, an hour long bumpy dirt road with downhills and one steep-ish uphill on the return drive. If you have a vehicle with 177mm ground clearance or a 4×4 it should be fine as long as you drive slowly.
Will definitely stay again on my next time...
Read moreWhat a great place!!! We were looking only for a short stopover after visiting the Mountain Zebra NP on our way up north and ended up staying three nights. It's a beautiful old sheep farm with very welcoming and lovely owners. They have cottages, rooms and a lovely shady campground with very big, modern and clean ablution. The scenery around is just spectacular. We stayed on one of the campsites with our 9 month old son. We also had dinner and breakfast with them which were delicious. The grassy pool area has plenty of shade so we stayed (and played) there all day. There are walking trails starting from the farm from 1h to daywalks and you can do a number of other activities like feeding lambs. The nearby tiny settlement of New Bethesda, is an artsy place, with a few galleries and restaurants. It is a relaxed and safe place. Well worth a little excursion. We didn't want to leave and will...
