An Unforgettable Weekend Getaway: Leopard Valley Eco Retreat From the moment we arrived at the contemporary eco-cabins, we knew we were in for a special weekend. Nestled in a peaceful valley between Citrusdal and Clanwilliam, this cozy retreat was the perfect escape for us and our beloved pup.
Though the weather was brisk, the cabin welcomed us with its rustic warmth and eco-friendly touches. The gas heater quickly banished the chill from our bones. The thoughtful design, combining sustainability with comfort, made us feel right at home.
Our evenings were spent outside, savouring a delightful braai under the stars. Despite the cold, the warmth of the fire and the delicious aromas created an inviting atmosphere that made us forget the temperature.
The highlight of our trip was undoubtedly the exhilarating cold plunge. We took the plunge into the icy waters of the nearby pool. It was a shock to the system, but the rush of adrenaline was incredible! We felt alive and rejuvenated, a truly invigorating experience – highly recommend.
Fishing by the dam close by was another joy. The tranquillity of the water and the beauty of the natural surroundings provided the perfect backdrop for some quality time together. Our pup happily explored the area, adding to the joyous and relaxed atmosphere. The thrill of catching a fish and the subsequent release was both exciting and fulfilling, definitely the boyfriend’s favourite activity.
After our day of adventures, we unwound in the private wood-burning hot tub. The contrast of the warm water against the cool evening air was divine. We spent hours soaking, talking, and stargazing, with our dog contentedly curled up nearby. It was pure bliss.
We are immensely grateful for this unforgettable weekend at Leopard Valley Eco Retreat. It was more than just a getaway; it was a rejuvenating experience that reminded us of the simple joys of life and the beauty of nature. The thoughtful amenities, combined with the natural setting, made it a perfect retreat. Our hearts are full, and we cannot wait to return for another stay.
Thank you for creating such a magical place where memories are made and cherished.

Read moreUnfortunately as pretty as the unit was, the weekend was spoilt by a number of shortfalls. The unit we stayed in was advertised with a pool, this was not true.(still under construction) The website also indicated hiking trails but the book in the unit stated that the trails would be built over the next few years. As trail runners - this was very disappointing and one of the reasons we booked at Leapard Valley) Add to this, upon arriving, there was no toilet paper and no wood. When we requested more wood (which we were paying for), we were met with some attitude from the manager - seemed like a massive inconvenience (and we only received the wood late on Saturday afternoon). Its unfortunate that we also found dirty underwear in the room to top it off along with dirty towels. We also had a blocked shower which kept flooding and no braai (the one on site had holes in it)
An email before arrival stating what is on site and what you needed to bring with - would go a long way
Don't advertise things you don't have - guests just want to know what is catered for so they are better prepared when they arrive or avoid booking if it doesn't have the facilities they want for a weekend away
I've rated the location as a 3 star - its beautiful there but its right next to a busy road ((I should of looked into this properly before I booked) which kept us awake on the Friday night with trucks...
Read moreHands down on of the best holidays of my life. The location is perfect, the views are stunning and the units are amazing.||There is a surprising amount of room for two a house made of two upcycled shipping containers. The kitchen was well stocked, only "missing" item was a pair of scissors. We stayed in Verreaux's Eagle, quiet and stunning views. The firepit and half barrel braai were both lovely. A grid was provided, but it is well weathered so consider bringing your own.||It was too cold to try the outside bath, but the outdoor shower after a run down the valley road was amazing. Don't worry there is an indoor shower as well. The pool was lovely, although I personally didn't brave the water I was told it was perfect.||The WiFi is good, not that you'll want to use it that much. We stayed an extra night which meant I got to test it out for a conference call and it held up perfectly. Luke and Benjamin are very helpful, they came out in the cold and wet to replace the gass when it ran out and taught us how to reset the inverter if it bugs out. The latter is getting replaced soon.||Hiking is self guided make your own path style, which unless you are looking for a trail to run on is perfect. The fire damage to the far side of the valley is recovering well and the low vegetation makes for easy routes.||Ten out of ten would recommend, definitely will...
