Monte Vidéo Guest House — Hotel in Drakenstein Local Municipality

It was my Dad's 89th birthday and I was wanting to spoil my folks with a night at a country guest house. Firstly I imagined it to be more out of town and not in a built up area just on the outskirts of Wellington.||I also needed a room with a walk in shower for my Mom and after seeing the photos of the place was worried about the numerous amount of steps. I explained my dilemma on three occassions and was assured it was suitable for my parents needs.||The room was not wheel chair friendly as discussed and to get to the breakfast room we had to either climb numerous steps, walk up a paved pathway which was extremely steep or drive the car up the owners driveway and then walk througb the owners house to reach the diningroom. ||This upset me as it put a damper on our stay.||To top it all the tiles leading to the room were porcelain and once wet became slippery. My Mom nearly fell when her walking stick slipped on the tiles and my Dad had a terrible fall trying to help her into the room.||Designing a guesthouse takes a lot of thought especially when you are catering for a wide selection of the population. Neat guest house just on the outskirts of Wellington. Conveniently located near shops and restaurants, although these are not within walking distance they are a short drive away. A hearty breakfast is served and staff go out of their way to help, even opening a little earlier to ensure I got a breakfast when I had to leave early. The rooms are spacious and clean with a safe in the room. The bathroom only has a shower and the extraction fan on my bathroom was quite loud. There is an honesty bar in a very nice breakfast room. First time visit to Wellington to attend training at local SA Leather Academy. Albertus, Dalene and Team made the stay a positive experience. Monte Video guest house serves a very nice breakfast. There is a small bar fridge and microwave oven in room. I bought some groceries from local store and used Checkers Sixty60 service. The Monte Video Team noticed that I did not have own transport and bought own groceries and took initiative to provide me with plates and utensils to enjoy meal.
