My fiance', my best friend, and I, found this fantastic gem, within 2km of the Addo Elephant Park entrance. A real bush-camp feel, really fantastic wooden lodge design, and well prepared rooms. Our stay was short, but well worth every minute, with comforting and really good food, and all the well-thought-out luxuries you'd expect at a 5 star spot! Really loved our stay! Thankyou Elephants' Footprint for a memorable couple of days!

The positives...The property is well-situated - about a five-minute drive from the entrance to Addo. The rooms were clean. In the 35-degree heat, we really enjoyed the outdoor shower. Communication with Wesley before arriving was excellent. He was able to help me book an excellent guide for our trip into Addo.|The negatives...Unfortunately, when we arrived at the lodge, it was 35 degrees out. The property doesn't advertise air-conditioning, but the ceiling fan was broken. When we brought this to the attention of management we were told that we would have to wait until the morning for it to be fixed (it was not fixed the next day either). We eventually asked if there was a standing fan we could use. This was brought to us although we were not able to sleep in the high temperatures.|The dining room was also very hot. The meal that was offered was good, but extremely overpriced at 350 Rand pp, especially when that didn't even include water or drinks.|Management seemed incredibly disorganized. When we mentioned we had a game drive booked, the woman at the desk could not find any record of the booking but told us to "wait outside at 930 and somebody would probably be there." Also, when we went to pay when we were about to leave, we were given a bill for a bottle of champagne and nothing more. We had to tell her that we actually needed to pay for a game drive, three dinners, and a few drinks. She had no record of what we had spent. I am not sure how a business can be...

Next to Addo park, ideal. Beautiful rooms to see. Fridge was not cold, showering outside was not our thing. It was made for our dinner without us asking. We checked in at 6:30 PM and had to eat there at 7 PM. We had already eaten so we said thanks. They wanted us to pay. Ultimately they indicated that it was a miscommunication. We had sent an email to see if they had vegan options before we traveled (intended for breakfast in terms of options). And they interpreted this as a reservation for a vegan dinner??! So be very careful with this! Ultimately you don't have to pay. Our fellow non-vegans had a delicious meal there. Breakfast was very limited. No vegan options as stated. At all, just jam for sandwiches and nothing else. Many guests brought something with them to put on bread, which was very strange. The juice glasses were also mini size, 2 sips. Was the breakfast with least options during our entire stay. Wouldn't book here again...

Elephants Footprint Lodge was absolutely amazing! Veronique is a very professional, welcoming and helpful young lady who made us feel right at home. She gave us some very useful advice on how the self drive at the elephant park works as we had never driven in such a big park before. The location of the lodge cannot be any better, as it's a hop and not even a skip or a jump to the South gate of Addo. The room was super stunning, decorated in an African vibe with warm wood and natural tones. The bathroom was certainly a highlight for me as it has a lovely big bath and of course its outside shower. The lodge has its own restaurant which is very conveniently situated right on the premises. The food was absolutely devine and my boyfriend was practically speechless during his main of succulent springbok. I am pescatarian and don't eat land animals, but I was very well catered for too. Thank you for a...
