Pet owners beware!! My partner (C.Ward) and I checked into this establishment on 12 December 2024. We booked into cottage 4, which is Pet–Friendly. After unpacking we let our Pug outside to explore and do potty. My partner went outside to check up on her and found her sniffing around an area in the garden. At closer inspection, we noticed bread and some pellets. I then realised it could be rat poison and I immediately took a photo and sent it to the owners who stay next door. Later one of the owners came knocking on our door. We explained that we were worried that it was rat poison and that our Pug could have digested some. She acknowledged that it was rat poison and asked if we would like to move to another room. We had just travelled some distance, were done unpacking and were tired. We declined and asked where the closest emergency Vet was should our Pug show any symptoms. No assistance was offered other than we think this or that Vet might be open. Later on, I went to see if the poison had been removed because we were still in the unit. The rat poison was still there! We locked ourselves in the unit for the night and left the next morning at 5 am. 9 am My anger was beyond belief and I decided to phone the owner (same number as the number where we sent the Whats App photos). “This” owner claimed she knew nothing about the incident and blamed the garden boy. As an owner of a Pet-Friendly accommodation surely you make sure it is safe for animals. No follow-up call to find out if our Pug has survived (luckily she did). We have lost one dog because of poisoning and know the agony they go through. Pebble Fountain owners, shame on you. You don’t deserve to run a B&B...
Read moreI stayed at Pebble Fountain whilst attending the university in February. The self catering accommodation is quite basic and in need of some upgrades and tlc. Windows are rickety, cupboards are old and peeling and television is only 3 channels all of which are not clear. Self catering is basic- a fridge, microwave and kettle so unable to prepare any meals. Cutlery and crockery and dishes are sparse. It is an absolutely beautiful guest house, well manicured gardens, pool, great dining area and the staff go out of their way to help you. Good value for money and close proximity to university as well as English breakfast included each...
