Pepper Tree Venue & Guest House — Hotel in Free State

Pepper Tree exceeded our expectations for our dream wedding! We could not have asked for a better or more experienced team to have assisted with every detail in making our big day as special and as memorable as it was. Pepper Tree did the catering for our braai the evening before the wedding, ensured that we didn't have to lift a finger on our big day, and knew exactly how and when to have moved our wedding indoors whilst we enjoyed the rainy weather. The gardens were so incredibly well kept and beautiful and the lights in the gardens ensured such a romantic rainy summer night atmosphere which we thoroughly enjoyed with our guests. Pepper Tree gave us great wedding advice, the guesthouse and wedding reception food were both excellent and had many guests talking, and their attention to detail was phenomenal - from guest water bottles at the ceremony to insect repellent in all guesthouse guests' rooms, to the romantic setup of the honeymoon suite on the wedding night. They thought of everything, they're perfectly equipped for weddings, and the honeymoon suite's hair and makeup station was very well equipped and sizeable. Pepper Tree even ensured that the bride had her bouquet seconds before entering the chapel when the bride herself, forgot about it :) We cannot thank the Pepper Tree team enough for making our day as unforgettable as it was! Pepper tree guest house has lovely spacious rooms which we enjoyed with private verandas off each room which has Aircons and electric blankets for winter, the rooms are all a mix of sizes in both room and Bathroom, Each room has its own mini fridge with basic coffee supplies. Water pressure wasn't great if more than 1 is showering it seemed.

Bit of rutted sand road to get in but not bad at all, Lovely to see the small aircraft in air around the BnB due to the small airfield next door essentially, despite this and the rutted road there was little to no noise.

Breakfast packs were good and the served breakfast was your standard English breakfast.

for a self catering option I was quite taken back at the fact we paid R30 Per person to braai. Owners were quite accommodating at assisting us in getting more firewood.

We were quite taken back to see that 1 room was left open and another had a spare set of keys in on our return back to the guest house.

Momentum launch and training session was attended. No coffee at arrival. The waiter said they were bringing but never came. The people who had coffee said it was cold. Even if coffee jars of a good quality like Jacobs or Douwe Egbert was available, it would have been perfect. The venue was very hot and the aircons didn't help at all. Very unconfortable chairs for sitting a long time. The data projector did not show the presentation slides as a good quality. Hardly and information was visable. After the lunch break it was better. Not sure what changed. The food that was served was good. Cooldrinks in the can was fine but available straws would be great as not to drink from the can itself. Could be in an ice bath to stay cold. Ample shaded parking was nice. The road is very poor but I know the venue can not do anthing about it. Gardens are in a very good condition and beautiful. Overall experience was...
