Subject: Feedback on Recent Stay at Country Inn Karthu Inn
Dear [Recipient's Name],
Feedback regarding our recent stay at Country Inn Karthu Inn. It is important to note that we cannot recommend this as a Tourist overnight destination but rather hostel- type Inn
Given the room rate of R1390.00 per night, I anticipated a standard of accommodation reflective of at least three stars. Unfortunately, this was not my experience. The rooms are in urgent need of renovation, and the condition of the beds left much to be desired.
Additionally, our dining experience was disappointing. The steak served during our evening meal was poorly prepared—overcooked, rather than the requested medium to rare. Moreover, the "monkey gland sauce" appeared to have been sourced from a pre-packaged product, failing to meet the expectations set by the menu description. We also attempted to order waffles, only to be informed they were not available. This raised concerns about the preparation and service provided at such a late hour (8:30 PM)!
Breakfast was equally disappointing ..and not ready as per advertised time of 6h30 ..the coffee machine was only switched on at 07h00! Service was extremely unfriendly and rude..one of the guests requisted toilet paper in the Guest toilet the shocking response! "only when office opens after 08h00 ! " surely some were in this big inn there must be toilet paper !!! The staff was just too lazy to go the extra mile! After breakfast we still do not know who was the chef, waiter or clients with no dress code. Not even a Good Morning how are you or welcome and we really felt sorry for the elderly lady asking for toilet paper
Overall, the quality of our visit did not justify the fees charged, and I cannot, in good conscience, recommend this facility. Based on our experience, I would rate Country Inn Karthu Inn as a one-star establishment.
We will forward this to their GM Mr G Brown as well as...
Read moreMy stay at this hotel was a deeply disappointing experience.||Room: The room was far from what I expected. It felt poorly maintained, with a cockroach spotted shortly after settling in—a major hygiene concern. To make matters worse, the bathroom ceiling had visible mold and cracks which not only looked unappealing but also raised health concerns.||The air conditioning barely worked, leaving the room uncomfortably warm. Additionally, the shower only provided enough warm water for one person to take a quick shower||To add to the discomfort, a cleaner entered the room without knocking while we were still getting dressed, an unacceptable breach of privacy. When they returned later to clean, they left the dead cockroach on the floor, showing a lack of thoroughness and attention to detail.||Restaurant: Dining was equally disappointing. When I ordered the "pasta of the day," I was informed the stove was broken. I opted for fish and chips instead, only to be told there was no fish available. My third choice, chicken schnitzel, was finally served, but it was dry, highly overcooked, and arrived without any sauce. To make matters worse, the owners' dogs walked into the dining area while we were eating, which felt highly unhygienic and unprofessional. Breakfast was no better—stale, hard bread and insects crawling on the floor made the meal unappetizing. ||Overall: The lack of proper management was evident throughout the stay. The use of one universal gate code for all guests felt careless and raised concerns about safety and privacy. Additionally, the owners’ dogs roamed freely around the property, which posed both hygiene issues and potential safety risks.||While the staff were polite, my experience lacked the basic standards of cleanliness, maintenance, and service one expects from a 3 star hotel. I cannot recommend staying here until significant...
