Unfortunately my stay at the Cullinan Premier Hotel was disappointing. Of course this old building represents an awesome rich history and the Foyer and Bar areas is decorated beautifully, but that was as good as it got. We booked in for a full day spa couples treatment and overnight stay. We stayed in room 11 and it was mediocre. The carpet was dirty - it clearly needed a wash. The curtains had no effect in keeping the light out. The bathroom was also dirty. The bath was dirty - dust and what looked like small leaves. The towel rail was broken and just clicked back in order for it to look like it was in working condition. It has clearly been glued back several times to no avail. There is also an ant colony living in the bathroom - they were all over the entire bathroom. Included in the package - we were supposed to get breakfast the next morning - which never happened. As we walked to the dining area to sit down for breakfast, we were quickly greeted and showed out. I've given them two stars - one for each lady that assisted us with our "Spa Treatments". No...
Read moreWe arrived from Cape Town at 13:30 to be told we had to wait, why not offer a cup of tea or coffee in restaurant if a half a hour is such a problem, staff wasn’t busy with room, because they were chatting. We went for a drive to arrive at 14:05, to be directed to the reception desk, via the bar, no friendly ‘can I help’, just ‘it’s that way’ by the waiter in the restaurant. At reception desk a confused face when I said Who we were, firstly one key / room was given for two Identical room booking. secondly we was told to follow a young girl, on the stairway I was asked which of the two rooms I want because one has a balcony and the other faces the back of a building (where is the city view). Yet again nobody to help with suitcases, my dad has problems, so going up the flight of stairs is a bit difficult, so I had to go down again to help him with his suitcase. Only when both suitcases was on the First floor the young girl decided to help by taking my suitcase to my room, I have no problem to pull my small suitcase to my room myself after running up and...
Read moreI was given a fully paid nights stay by my sister as a gift, booked into the William Mc Hardy suite. On arrival we were met by an unfriendly woman Ronel, who didnt welcome us at all to the hotel, & who stated that we had no proof of our payment! When proof was given she did not apologise, but instead stormed off to take us to our suite, that was not the one we booked for. It was crawling with ants and spiders in the bathroom, with a strong smell of cats wee. After we complained we were moved to the correct room, still no apology. Going down to dinner on a friday night we were told the kitchen had closed at 4pm! I then tried to book a spa pedicure for the next day we were told they were fully booked, there was no space available. As we were the only people at breakfast it is of my opinion as well as some of the locals that there is no spa! Breakfast the next morning was unedible, eggs fried in old oil! We felt that as guests we were not accomodated for at all. I would not recomend this hotel to anyone. We met the owner who was...
