Eagles Nest Estate Guest House — Hotel in Gauteng

I’ll be honest, I usually don’t look forward to traveling to JHB. Between the potholes, broken streetlights, and endless traffic issues, this Capetonian is always counting down the days until I’m back home in Cape Town.

But after my recent stay at Eagles Nest, I can say, hand on heart , this was the first time in all my years of business trips to JHB that I didn’t want to leave.

From the moment we arrived, the hosts were warm and welcoming, greeting us with an “oestertjie” and genuine smiles. The rooms were cozy and comfortable, and the view, true to the name Eagles Nest, was nothing short of breathtaking.

And then there was the food. We opted for their breakfast (best decision ever!) and I was completely blown away by their homemade blesbok burgers, honestly, one of the best burgers I’ve ever had.

When it was time to check out, I felt a little sad, because for the first time, JHB actually felt like home.

I can’t recommend Eagles Nest enough. The hosts and staff are absolute gems, and I’ll definitely be staying with them again on my next trip. And here’s something I never thought I’d say, I’m actually looking forward to my next...

My daughter and I recently stayed two nights at the Eagles Nest Estate Guest House. Booking could not have been easier. Liesl and Justi were gracious and informative hosts. The property is secure, the view is stunning, rooms are comfortable and clean, breakfast is plentiful and delicious. We did not have a car, so Liesl and Justi included us in their dinner plans for a minimum charge and the food was delicious! I cannot say enough good things about our stay. This is an amazing place to go for a getaway. It's quiet, peaceful and has amazing views. The rooms are very elegantly furnished and are very clean and tidy. The hospitality of Egles nest are far above what can be expected. The staff is helpful and very kind. If you have something special planned for a loved one or just want to get away from the buzz of the city, this is the place. The only real description I have is that this is a real hidden gem in the heart...
