A large, somewhat worn complex with attractive and extensive gardens, within 30 minutes from Pretoria or Sandton. Rooms are huge and rather old, but clean, with decent showers and comfortable beds. Quite fine if you are not going to spend long in your room between conference or celebration activities. Some of our party’s aircons unfortunately were shockingly loud which prevented comfortable summertime sleep. The meeting rooms and banquet facility, which we used over our two-day conference, are pleasant and workable and good value for the price. Read moreWe visited Idle Winds restaurant on Sunday 10 Jan 2016 for lunch. The garden is peaceful and the restaurant calming and elegant. The air-conditioning was very welcome. ||||Service was excellent from very friendly, professional and attentive waiters. The food was wonderfully tasty, very well presented (complements to the chef here) and the portions generous, the menu varied and very reasonably priced. We especially appreciated the attention paid to the smaller things, such as the half a lemon wrapped, to catch the pips as you squeeze the juice over the fish, the sorbet served between courses to cleanse the pallet and so on. The filter coffee is of a particularly aromatic and flavourful variety. All together a very pleasant experience. Highly...
