Ingaadi is set in a beautiful forest. Portions of it overlook an idyllic dam which gives one that feeling of being 'away from all' even though it is not far from town. The Spa reception area could benefit by a little more signage as one steps through the most obvious door into a dining room which is momentarily confusing. The dining room is dimly lit and whilst one values privacy, the main source of light seems to be from the bar. Possibly it is brighter on a sunny day but perhaps the staff could light a few candles on a dull day.||The staff were most welcoming and friendly. ||The change room was disorganized, there were not enough bathrobes and we had to personally hunt for slippers whilst the attendant was off looking for robes. The hot signage for the taps is minuscule and written high on the tiling of the shower, which those of us who use reading glasses could not see - luckily a younger client was able to point it out to us.||The massage room for two was small and the beds a little narrow. I am an average sized woman and my larger husband would never have managed to fit himself onto the massage bed. ||The massages were given by two concerned, friendly and delightful ladies but both of us felt that whilst they were enthusiastic and very sweet, they were not skilled to the point of assessing problems areas and giving them a little extra pressure and/or easing out. It felt as though they had not been given much training in the anatomy of a massage. However, I must stress that it was none the less a lovely relaxing afternoon and the foot massage was heavenly.||The staff are delightful. The setting great and with just a little more training and attention to detail it would...
Read moreAfter a hiatus away from my home country, I brought my Frenchman to South Africa for his very first experience. Having experienced high end spa facilities across Europe, I nevertheless brought him to Ingaadi Spa to experience the uniqueness of African hospitality as it integrates with nature.||From being welcomed by Muzi to being pampered by Betty and Gracious before returning to well maintained and immaculately clean restroom facilities as maintained by Simphiwe, we never doubted for a moment that our patronage was valued and appreciated.||As the location is rather remote (yet wonderfully immersive in nature, vegetation and populated by local animal residents), we decided to spend the night in the Honeymoon Suite. Incredible... Every detail was attended to. The resident chef delivered a three course dinner to our room, promptly at the time it was promised, and every staff member who passed our chalet en route to the staff quarters at the end of their work day, greeted us kindly to wish us a good night. Indeed, kindness does matter and so do the small things.||This establishment is a testimony to how good leadership can shape the team that is Ingaadi Spa. We are all connected: it starts at the top and filters down to the consumer's experience. As an entrepreneur, I hereby acknowledge and compliment the management team and every member of staff.||Thank you, Ingaadi, for being prime representatives of the kindness, beauty and luxury this country has to offer.||Merci...
Read moreWe booked our one-year anniversary at Ingaadi Lodge & Spa, and unfortunately, it was nothing short of a disaster. My husband had reserved the honeymoon suite, only to be told that the suite had been double-booked due to a supposed wedding. However, there was no wedding happening, and we were informed the suite had been given to someone else.
Our room had maggots on the glasses and coffee cups, which was absolutely disgusting. There was also no milk or pods available to make coffee, which was a huge disappointment. The bed was very hard and pillows very uncomfortable The restaurant didn’t open until 8:30 AM, so no coffee or until then. Which we decided to rather leave.
The situation worsened when we discovered water leaking into our room during a rainy night. It got so bad that we had to use a dustbin to collect the water to keep it from flooding the floor.
As for the massage, it was a mixed experience. When we were taken to the room for our full-body massage, the space was filthy. The blanket they provided was soaked in oil, which was unsanitary. The massage bed felt like a hospital bed, with a hole so big that I could barely keep my head comfortable. That said, the therapist did a good job with the massage, though there was a noticeable lack of professionalism.
The neck and foot massage were the highlights of the whole experience, but unfortunately, the negatives far outweighed the positives.
Would I go back or recommend Ingaadi Lodge & Spa?...
