EDIT below reply to owner : (Disgusting) Had a horrible experience and the owners do not care , our company along with our partners went to this lodge for a quiet weekend away (possibly our new holiday destination - NOT ) , they preach about quiet and peace , turn music off at this time , quieten down from this time , call this number if there are any issues , cottage next door had a party of 20 and started from 4pm to 5am the next morning , we called numbers provided and no answer , tried everything , i was also at that time awake (5am ) having a coke as you cannot sleep , one of the armed patrols walked by and spoke to me , they agreed this was absurd and the other guests were inconsiderate , the team radio'd in to put in a complaint , heard reception acknowledge and they will send someone , nothing happened ...... Next morning after absolutely no sleep the other business partners and their partners decided to leave 2 days early , the lodge apologised and said they would refund the amount....... now 2 weeks later and we get an email about how WE did not do enough , WE did not call , WE were "wondering" the grounds at 1am , absolutely no resposnibility taken by the lodge and I AM HAPPY TO SAY WE WILL NEVER STAY THERE AGAIN OR RECCOMEND IT , i have also asked everyone who stayed with us to leave a review since management / owners cannot apologise or take responsibility , never mind a refund which has never come , stayed 1 night

Read moreEdit response to owner: Visited for the first time as a possible company vacation/ retreat each year , horrible experience , loud guests next door with a massive party from 4pm to 5am the next morning , reception line closes at 10pm , other numbers did not work , one of the gents staying with us was on the patio at 2am and found an armed patrol where they agreed the other guests were out of line , complain finally layed and nothing was done , for a resort that pushes peace and quiet and so many rules about music , we chose to be conisderate and not do that , lodge does not enfore their rules and will not take responsibility , MD recieved an email about how WE did not contact them , WE did not follow the correct procedure , WE are wondering the grounds at 1am ( We were on the patio because it was impossible to sleep) , We were booked for 4 days ! we only stayed 1 night , NEVER AGAIN -- and by the way no refund , even though we got confirmation from reception they would atleast refund 2 nights as we were leaving that morning
Edit reply: Believe you chose money over your values , your patrol team agreed with us and offered to go talk to the party , they continued until 5am and then restarted at 7am , why would we keep complaining when you wouldnt do anything anyway , and when we told you about these issues you blamed us as the guests who kept quiet and to themselves , blaming us for lurking on the premises at 3am , how dare you guys say this , further to this we checked out early , two days early !!!! you have our money for nothing , we paid and received nothing , basically criminals stealing money . Read moreMy wife and I were booked in Monateng Safari Lodge unit GI 01 (which is a wholly owned MDC resort) from 29/03/21 to 1/4/21.
We were totally shocked and disgusted to find out for ourselves, about the fly infestation in the resort. It was was so disgusting that we finally departed a day earlier. It does not help to mention it in a newsletter on arrival, or include a small bottle of fly and lice spray. There isn't even DOOM spray! We tried to braai on Wednesday late afternoon and it was impossible as they go in the hot braai fire and sit on the meat. I swotted flies for two hours, just on the veranda. We had to stop and cook the meat in the oven. It also does not help to close the doors and windows and keep the aircon on because the flies still come in via gaps around the doors and one swots them day and night IN THE UNIT!! I know there is a crocodile farm and chicken farm close by, but this cannot be the main reason for the plague. I can only suggest that every unit is equiped with two automatic fly sprays. The electric mosquito machine does nothing against flies! This will at least help in the units! The resort should actually be declared a health risk and closed down until the matter is resolved!!!! Another issue is the lighting for the evenings as many lights are fused and around the swimming pool it is so dark that it a safety risk. The small spotlight is not working as well as many other lights in the complex. It does not help to save funds but cause a safety risk.
