I recently went on a business trip and stayed at Pumulani Lodge. This venue was pathetic, especially considering it is a wedding venue. The pictures on the internet are extremely decieving. The morning after I had arrived, there was no electricity and water for the most part of the morning and we were not told why. There was a constant sewage smell on the premises. There was a large group of adults on conference who were being shouted at and were treated like a bunch of school kids. The owner had clearly not educated herself regarding her guests. She came across as RACIST and AGGRESIVE as she made the guests stand outside and shouted at them saying that she is the owner of the place and if they did not like the place they can leave, the road is right here. She went so far as to scream at her staff to stop making up the rooms for the guests. She also kept talking to her colleagues about the group in Afrikaans, clearly thinking that they did not understand. She kept referring to the group as children when they were actually adults. ||||When it came to meal times, they did not cater appropriately. We were not given enough food during the meal times and had to wait for everyone to eat before we could get seconds. ||||The shower in my room in particular was ridiculous! The water sprayed everywhere except on me. I'd really liked to have asked the owner how she expects her guests to have a proper shower, but I was afraid she may shout at me like a little child. ||||All in all it was a horrible experience. I was so happy when the day came for me to leave. It is beyond me how this place can be a...
Read moreNot sure where to start! - From the indifferent check-in (think the manager was in a hurry to get back to her Savannas and friends!) to the poorly maintained and dirty rooms to the green pool and uncaring staff this was almost a nightmare experience. I am battling to write this as I do not know where to start! (Have included some pictures which speak volumes) As I have had no response from the manager to date I am still not sure if I was in the correct room. We paid for a "delux" - not sure the difference between this and standard (apart from price) perhaps if the owners read this (doubtful) they could enlighten me! .... Green pool - burned bedside lamp - missing tile in toilet - mould on tiles - broken desk in room - broken door latch - shower rose so dirty it sprays everywhere - paint peeling off the walls - the fan with bare light - the fan broken (either light and fan or no light and bo fan!). In the morning staff members literally screaming right outside the room. - and this was ONE of the 3 rooms we booked (and sadly overpaid for) I will certainly be writing to any association connected with this lodge - they should visit and re-evaluate! Dont Stay!...

We stayed over for a wedding at another venue. When we arrived at Pumulani to check in, our air-conditioner was broken. We specifically booked the room as we have a 2 month old baby and need a heater. They then gave us a cheepy blow heater which did not properly heat the room.
The doors are wooden and are not covered with curtains, so the cold crept in below and through the wooden door's openings.
When we wanted to heat the baby's bottle, the kettle in our room did not want to work. The next morning we could get it to work by putting pressure on it through out the boiling process, only to make coffee which is not drinkable as we were only given Cremora which most likely expired because it made the coffee split.
We had minimal hot water and literally NO pressure! The pressure was so low that we could not shower.
The room was dusty, the toilet seat broken and the toilet does not properly flush AND leaks.
We paid R900 for this room! It was very below standard. And this morning when we wanted to check out and complain - NOT ONE person in sight!! We gave our key in at the gate...
