Forest Gate — Hotel in George

We booked a group stay for our club this past weekend at Forest Gate, and we cannot commend them enough for their effort and professionalism. The units and cabins are tastefully decorated with all amenities. Whether you are travelling alone or staying with the whole family, they have a room for you and your budget. For the kids there is a huge playroom with child minder, bunnies & guinea pigs, horse rides, swimming pools, quad bikes, arcade, playgrounds, and more. For the adults there is a sports bar, butchery, boutique shops, restaurant, and loungers by the pool. All of that without even stepping foot off of the property. The Two Brother restaurant onsite, run by Louis, has some of the best food in the area. I cannot recommend their ribs enough! The wait staff is impeccable, and the portions were large. The bar, Lumberjacks, run by Johan and Dan, is fully stocked, with pool table and music or sports on the big screens. They managed to keep up with our crowd all weekend, with flawless tact. Lastly, as a mother, my favorite staff member of all is Tobelo, in the arcade. He made sure my kids had a weekend they will never forget. From sweets, to quad bike rides, to answering endless questions on the cost of everything and why. Their amazing weekend was sealed with Tobelo running out to the car with lollipops as we left. Our whole weekend was orchestrated by Gayle, the manager. Who gladly assisted us in organizing the cabins and units for our thirty members. Ensuring that all our needs were met. We had the absolute pleasure of celebrating our wedding at Forest Gate, and it was truly magical from start to finish. 🌿✨ It was their very first wedding, and you would never have known — Gayle and her team were phenomenal! The amount of care, thought, and effort they put into everything was just incredible.

The Forest Chapel was utterly enchanting — like something out of a fairytale — and created such a beautiful, intimate atmosphere for our ceremony. Our reception was held at Two Brothers Restaurant right there on the Forest Gate property, and it all flowed perfectly.

Many of our guests also stayed overnight at Forest Gate, and everyone felt so relaxed and well looked after. The accommodation was peaceful, surrounded by nature, and added a wonderful sense of togetherness to the celebration.

The scenery is breathtaking and made for some truly stunning photos — we’re still waiting on most of our professional pics, but I’ll be adding those to this review in due course!

We couldn’t have asked for a more special, warm, and memorable setting for our big day.

This place is wonderful! This green location is perfect for nature lovers and anyone looking for a peaceful escape. It's also an ideal starting point for exploring the surrounding area.

The accommodation is beautifully designed with spacious rooms, full of thoughtful details that make you feel right at home. The restaurant is simply amazing. We got here the best salad dressing, incredible fries, and the most delicious pizza! But the highlight for us was definitely the shrimp dish.

The service was exceptional—warm, attentive, and truly welcoming. The atmosphere is fantastic.
