Gooderson Knysna Chalets — Hotel in George

This was a really nice stay, we had a good time as a family. When we got there we were staying in one of the little houses but we asked to be moved into one of the “chalet/tree houses” so that we could feel more like we were on holiday and have a more private experience. They happily obliged us.

The accommodation was comfortable, it was great that it had a bath as well as a shower. Bath is always a winner when you have small kids and most accommodation only have a shower. It is self catering and has a kitchen with a good amount of space. The bonus here was good wifi and some dstv channels on the tv.

The balconies are nice and spacious so we were 2 families and got 2 joined units, making it easy for us all to spend time together.

There is a pool area with a games room. The kids enjoyed the entire day by the pool and small slide. The place is situated on the edge of Knysna so it’s not a far drive to the nearby shops. For those who don’t like stairs you can stay in the normal accommodation they all have easy access.

This place is really perfect in just about every respect! Perhaps because it now belongs to a group it was upgraded? I just need to go back again expecting a portable mattress included or a very similarly priced unit offer for our need, as my teenagers cannot and did not share a double sleeper couch bed as the kids are different genders. Accommodation was comfortable so can't really complain, and we worked around sleeping arrangements for this trip by my daughter and I sharing the main bedroom so was kind of okay but not ideal for my relationship with my husband on holiday together. That would add the final outstanding star. We are used to staying at places with 2 single beds for our kids simultaneously same wonderful facilities for even a lesser cost. Price was relatively reasonable, and dates provided were quite super. Grateful for a great stay! Would like to return...

Hi .since we arrived on the 3rd .we had no hot water.we informed them.they sent out a maintenance guy,very young then he gave us Luke warm water ,but shower had no hot water only the bath ,some Luke warm water.the next day also no hot water.i informed reception,she came to check ,also found no hot water,was also told prior to her coming out that maintenance was off and manager in Durban,reception informed me that someone else would be coming out.my husband then went to check on the gas set up and managed to get it working after which we got hot water.the maintenance guy eventually came to us and said it was not possible for my husband to of done what he did,so basically telling us we are lying.my husband had to go and show him what he did.he was very rude and very abrupt.never ever again.3 days without hot water.thank you to the kind...
