Greenfern Lodge — Hotel in George

Spent a magical 11 days here in December 2023. I couldn't have asked for a warmer welcome and more hospitable hosts. Honestly, if I didn't live in the UK, I would be there as often as possible!

Set away from the hustle and bustle of day to day life and nestled in the forests, it is a peaceful respite and recharge that we all need.

I only gave 4 stars for location as it has dirt roads to get there but that's not a deal breaker as the "road less travelled" often holds the most beautiful gems and this one most certainly did. The 4 stars is not the hosts doing just a warning for the new adventurous traveller's.

I long to return and spend some time under the African starry skies and listen to the sounds of nature nestled in the magic...

This is a hidden gem. Tucked deep in the forest that is so magestic you think you are hallucinating. Several cottages that sleeps max 4 with own garden with braai spot ; or the large Lodge that sleeps several families with a pool....... If you really want to find yourself, paint, walk, read your book or spark your blocked mind as a writer, walk in the footsteps that elephants did for thousands of years........ this is definately the place. A magical week spent at Greenfern Lodge in the Chalets.... Annari is the consumate hostess and Justin is always available, from building steps when needed to putting up swimming pools...
