Hakuna Matata Game Farm - Self Catering Accommodation — Hotel in George

3* accommodation but a 5* experience.|The view overlooking the waterhole, seeing the various game visiting it and grazing was fabulous.|We had the 2 bedroom for just 2 of us but for 2 couples sharing it'd be perfect as the bedrooms are separate, one "in" the home, the other attached.|We spent most of the time on the deck though or in the wood fired hot tub, which was a lovely relaxing experience both in the day and in the evening.|We also went out on the (extra cost) game drive, which was informative and nice to meet the husband (or staff, as we jokingly referred to him as) Both hosts are friendly and helpful and genuinely seem to want their guests to enjoy their stay.|Although everything is there to self cater, we chose to eat out most nights and there are a few options, 10 to 15 minutes drive away.|Finally, we were granted a late check out which really helped us in our onward journey and meant we were able to enjoy another morning on the deck...

I feel I have wasted every other 5 star review I have given. This lodge was the absolute best I have stayed at. Kitchen is listed, and it’s a full kitchen that you can prepare and make whatever you want. The view from the balcony is incredible, watching the bird life, buck and buffalo. We were also taken on a tour around the farm and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was the highlight of the trip. You can also go on walks around parts of the farm by yourself. We went simply to relax, but there are many things to do in the area and the hosts are always ready to assist with a suggestion. The host also left us wood for a great fire. My husband and I recently visited Hakuna Mata. We needed a break from the busy city life, as well as some quality time together. Wow! What an amazing time we had.. When we arrived we had an amazing view from our deck with the Buffalo drinking water by the dam. We love cycling, and we had such a lovely ride with wonderful views and animals around us. Later the evening we had a braai and we heard the roaring of the lions around us.. The unit was so well equipped everything we needed was there. Definitely one of the best self catering accommodation we have stayed at.. It was so peaceful and relaxing, we had a great time chatting, cycling braaing etc without any distractions.
