My husband and I had a truly wonderful stay. Jan is an exceptional host—warm, welcoming, and incredibly hospitable. Even though we arrived quite late in the evening, Jan had thoughtfully preheated the wood-fired tub for us, which we deeply appreciated after a long journey. The house itself is spacious, spotlessly clean, and fully equipped with everything you might need. Though it can comfortably accommodate six guests, it felt perfectly cozy for just the two of us. The WiFi was strong, and we enjoyed access to Netflix during our downtime. The setting is peaceful and safe, and we loved being able to walk around the farm and watch the animals. As an extra treat, Jan shared some fresh farm milk with us, which was absolutely delightful. This is a fantastic spot for large family getaways, with great amenities like a fire pit and pizza ovens. It’s also perfect for couples—we especially loved relaxing in the wood-fired hot tub. There’s honestly nothing we could fault about our stay. Just a small heads-up: being close to nature and a nearby lake, there are quite a few bugs around. The house is equipped with Doom spray, but it’s a good idea to bring along some Tabard or other insect repellent. All in all, we couldn’t have asked for a better experience and can’t wait to return!

Our weekend getaway to "House on the Hill" in Heidelberg was truly exceptional. Situated on a charming farm just outside town, this accommodation offered us a tranquil escape into nature's embrace, with the delightful presence of sheep, cows, and birds. Jan and Annellie Meyer, our hosts, were warm and welcoming. The accommodation itself was a haven of comfort, as it's newly built and fully equipped with a modern kitchen and all the amenities you could desire. Despite the rain, we reveled in the breathtaking views and the soothing serenade of the Duiwenhoks River. Annellie's hospitality stood out when she surprised us with farm-fresh eggs, Jersey cow milk, and a delightful pack of biscuits on our bed as a sweet welcome gift. "House on the Hill" exudes romance and is the perfect spot for a weekend retreat. I can't recommend it enough to fellow travelers seeking a peaceful and enchanting escape in Heidelberg. Five stars, without a doubt!

For my wife and I, with our three daughters, staying here was an amazing blessed time of relaxation and beauty! The house is spacious and so well equipped, the views are astounding, and we enjoyed every minute! Nature, coffee, Netflix, hot tub... what more could one want!? Plus the pizza oven to try out and the counter to sit at outside the big hall as the sun set...! Just wow. Jan and Annellie are so kind and have really thought out providing all the things that make a time away truly special. Well worth it and we would recommend to anyone who needs a dose of peace and joy.

We were there as a large group & were extremely surprised at the facilities. The cottages & the communal kitchen were very well equipped with EVERYTHING we needed to cater for the group meals daily. From the Nespresso machines in the units to fantastic quality cooking utensils, to the braai & pizza making facilities etc etc The jacuzzis on the decks were a hit!!. You can see the owners spared no expense when setting up this venue. Plus, the beds were very comfy, and everything was spotless. And to top it off the owners were very kind & so helpful. I can HIGHLY...
