Karoo 62 Escape — Hotel in George

Wonderfull place to go to for a recharge! We were booked into the Luxury Bush Lodge with some friends. Candles, fireplace and lanterns set a wonderful cozy feel in the evening. Gas stove is available if the fire is not ready to braai. The views from the lodge and from the mountains (when you take a walk) is beautiful. The kids loved the jacuzzi and riding around on their bicycles! There is even fun things for them to do and play with outside the restaurant which is a drive away. The Bush lodge is situated just far enough to not hear external noises etc. Pure tranquility. And just to mension.. the beds had amazing quality and feel. 6 friends and I stayed in the Luxury Bush Lodge this past weekend and I have to absolutely rave about this place! The host, Tamzin, is so friendly and accommodating, when we needed ice and wood or fuel for the generator, we received top notch service. The facilities are stunning with candles and paraffin lanterns to create the ambience of being off grid. The kitchen is gas powered and there's a wood fired hot tub that we simmered in while sipping on cocktails. We did a short hike up to the top of the hill and the views are breathtaking! This is a real gem. The Luxury Lodge (sleeps 8 in 4 rooms, 2 bathrooms) feels super remote, with total privacy, off-grid (generator and candles, no Wifi, cooling via ice in fridge), yet very comfortable rooms with mosquito nets. Amazing design, big fireplace inside and out, woodfired hot tub, big kitchen. The route there is for adventure bikes or 4x4 only, but Morné the manager (who is an all-round top guy) would have driven us there from the gate if needed.
